Pack a picnic and your windbreakers and head down to the seaside village of Derrynane (3.5 miles) for hours well spent on the sweeping golden beach. The area also boasts an ancient abbey and a historic house with manicured gardens for those seeking to learn more about the region. Foodies are in good company at the seafront village of Waterville (6.5 miles), which is famously known for its locally caught and cooked seafood. Alternatively, play a round of golf at its world-class course.
