Eyeries 4.5 miles. A charming, detached country house with spectacular sweeping views, set on the beautiful Beara Peninsula, County Cork. With exposed beams and fantastic scenery on all sides, this property makes an ideal destination for those wishing to escape everyday life to relax in rural solitude. Set over two floors, there are two bedrooms upstairs, and one on the ground floor, alongside a traditional living room complete with a cosy multi-fuel stove. Also on the ground floor is the family bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare delicious dishes and then take them into the sun room, where guests can relax on the 5-seater lounge suite and take in the breathtaking sights that stretch for miles towards the sea and surrounding mountains. With a good-sized garden out to the back of the property, you can let the little ones run around and enjoy themselves while the grown-ups soak up the last of the days rays on the decking with a glass of wine. Be sure to check out the Beara Peninsulas majestic scenery, where towering mountains trail down to meet the sea and stunning beaches. There are wonderful walks to be enjoyed, and youll also find the opportunity to trek through the ancient, mysterious landscape on horseback, spotting old relics on the way, or why not visit one of the local art and craft galleries to pick up a treasured keepsake of this beautiful area? Sugarbush cottage was excellent. Our favourite aspect was the wonderful view from the sun room over the bay, fields and hills. The owner was extremely helpful and provided us with lots of useful information about the local area as well as leaving us some welcome scones on our arrival. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Itâs got two bathrooms one en-suite downstairs and all the beds are full adult size. We did not want to leave, but knew that the power issues (no electricity to fridge etc) made it difficult to stay. Sykes offered several options including a full refund or staying in another cottage. The communication was poor on the day of arrival as the key holder did not provide the code to the key safe and was unavailable to sort out the problem with fuses. We had a visit from a neighbour who sorted it out next morning but it was a fraught beginning. PJ is friendly and will give excellent advice on what to do, places to see. On balance we would return as similar problems could be solved more quickly with the right people involved.
