To the rear of the cottage is a sheltered patio area where you can indulge in a spot of alfresco dining on a sunny evening. Carleton Village offers superb outdoor facilities including a walled garden with a heated outdoor swimming pool for the children and other fun games. There is also a basketball and tennis court and even a children’s playground. Just a short walk from your cottage is the walled seaside town of Youghal, home to traditional pubs, restaurants and shops as well as Youghal Beach and lighthouse.
The town lies on the estuary of the Blackwater Estuary and is a superb spot for watersports, including wind surfing, deep sea diving and kayaking to name a few. With its ancient walls and historic monuments, Youghal is recognised as an Irish Heritage Port town and is highly popular with tourists. There is also a golf course and greyhound racing track in Youghal should you fancy something a little different. Further afield are sandy beaches at Ardmore and Dungarvan, not to mention Lismore Castle and the famous Jameson Whiskey Experience at Midleton. A wonderful destination by the sea.
