Get away for a fun break at this semi-detached cottage in Dromineer on the eastern shore of Lough Derg. Perfect for friends and family, it’s just 100 metres from a beach and there’s a children’s playground in the village. The cottage has a cosy wood burner and a decked area for al fresco drinks, and there’s lots to see and do nearby.
The cottage makes a comfortable base with plenty of space for four. Step into the homely lounge where there’s a wood burner, a TV, sofas and armchairs to relax on. You’ll find everything you need to cook delicious meals and do your laundry in the spacious kitchen/diner, and a rustic dining table and chairs for sociable mealtimes. There’s also a separate WC and a shower room on the ground floor and the two pretty bedrooms are on the first floor, a double bedroom with a wardrobe and en-suite shower room, and a cute twin with a wardrobe. Outside, sit and enjoy the peaceful setting with a cold drink on the decked area while the kids run around and let off steam in the lawned garden.
Wander into the village to the pub with a restaurant, just over 150 metres away, and to the beach where the kids can enjoy aqua splash and walk around the marinas and harbour. Visit the 13th-century Kennedy Tower House in Dromineer, go sailing and fishing on the lough, or have a go at a new water sport during your stay. Pop to the town of Nenagh (6 miles), home to a range of shops, restaurants, a cinema, and a swimming pool/leisure centre. Explore the stunning scenery on pretty walks along Lough Derg Way and cycle along the North Tipperary Cycle Route.
