Blue Stack House receives glowing praise for its stunning, remote location with breathtaking views, making it an ideal retreat for those seeking peace and natural beauty. Guests consistently highlight the spacious, well-equipped cottage, the warm and helpful hosts, and the excellent base it provides for exploring Donegal. While a few minor suggestions for improvement are noted, such as mattress comfort and small kitchen additions, the overwhelmingly positive feedback emphasises cleanliness, comfort, and a truly memorable, relaxing stay.
Multiple reviews describe the property as very clean, well-maintained, and tidy. Guests consistently mention high standards of cleanliness throughout the house, with no significant negative comments in this area.
The location is repeatedly praised for its remote, peaceful setting and spectacular views. Guests love the tranquillity and proximity to nature, with only minor mentions that the remoteness may not suit everyone.
The cottage is described as spacious, comfortable, and homely. However, several guests mention issues with the comfort of some mattresses, particularly in the downstairs twin room, which slightly lowers the score.
The house is generally considered well-equipped, with guests appreciating the kitchen, space, and amenities. Some minor suggestions for improvement include additional kitchen items, clearer appliance instructions, and occasional maintenance issues (e.g., TV aerial, mattresses, shower mats).
The hosts are frequently described as exceptionally friendly, helpful, and accommodating, often providing local advice and assistance. While guests felt very welcomed, there is no mention of guaranteed gifts, so guests should not expect them as standard.

The house is large, clean and roomy and is well appointed. It's ideal for those seeking to explore the hills, with an enthusiasm for the great outdoors. Unfortunately, during our stay, the tv ariel malfunctioned and needed attention. The occupirr of the twin downstairs room found the beds uncomfortable, the room heating was'nt effective and the small washbasin in the attached bathroom had a leaking tap. The hosts were always friendly!

The cottage is comfortable with the most amazing views! We took our toddler and she loved the space to play, both inside and outside the cottage, so it didn't matter what the weather was doing. Would highly recommend staying here! We hope to return one day.

The property is very remote, as advertised, but surrounded by spectacular views, with beautiful walks accessible from the doorstep. A perfect location for a quiet getaway. The owner is very friendly, meeting us on arrival and answering any questions we had about the property. Just a couple of things which would make a big difference - the 2 single mattresses are very uncomfortable, with springs coming out. The first night the 2 using them got very little sleep. We had friends nearby and were able to borrow 2 thin air mattresses which we put on top and they made a huge difference. The double bed mattresses were excellent. Secondly, the addition of a couple of dining room chairs to make the table fit the number of occupants and the purchase of a sofa or more comfortable chair for the sunroom to take advantage of the beautiful views from that room would make the property even more appealing. We would definitely re-book in the future
