Villa Limoncello is an elegant home overlooking the dazzling sea on the Amalfi Coast. With Positano and an array of beaches under 2km away, this is the perfect place to stay for a trip with family or friends.
This vast villa stands out from the crowd as it offers a private terrace, to which you can arrive by boat in style! The home is spread over two floors. On the ground floor, there is plenty of space for gathering as a group; there are two living rooms, one of which is large with sea views and a smaller one with a TV which is an ideal place for the kids to gather. You will also find the fully-fitted kitchen, which is filled with pretty local tiles and a dining area on this floor. The house has six serene bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms located upstairs, and three of them share access to a covered terrace.
A tiered garden surrounds the villa to make the best use of the rocky, cliffside landscape. There are dining spaces, covered seating areas and lawns surrounded by lush greenery. Plus, for the ultimate relaxing afternoon, there is a heated hot tub which looks out over the sea. The villa has a barbecue and a wood-burning oven if you wish to dine or even cook al-fresco.
You do not need to travel far to the nearest beaches and amenities. One of the best beach clubs in Positano can be found under 1km away from the house; Arienzo Beach Club offers a beautiful beach away from the crowds in town with all of the facilities of a luxury beach club. If you prefer a quiet cove, then why not rent a boat and go to Fiumicello beach, which can only be reached by boat? No matter which kind of beach you prefer, you will find one you love along this expansive coastline.
The centre of Positano is only 2km away from Villa Limoncello and has everything you could need for a great holiday. This is one of the Amalfi Coast’s most-loved towns, and it is easy to see why. Approaching the town, you will see the iconic cliffside scattered with colourful buildings which lead down towards the sea. Spiaggia Grande is the main beach, but it can get very busy. A good tip is to walk over to Spiaggia del Fornillo, which is a gentle stroll away and is ideal for families.
Positano has been settled since the Middle Ages, so the streets are packed with historic architecture. After a busy day of exploring, you will be spoilt for choice when looking for somewhere to eat as the restaurants here are fantastic.
If you would like to visit Amalfi town, it is just 20km away. Another place for a day trip is the chic island of Capri which can be reached by boat from Positano!
Italy’s Amalfi Coast is known as one of the world’s most beautiful locations and, with endless beaches punctuated by pretty clifftop towns, this is not a surprise. Many villages, towns and beaches are just a stone’s throw away from Villa Limoncello, making it a fantastic base for your Italian escape.
The closest beach to the villa is under 1km away and is home to the Arienzo Beach Club, one of the finest seasonal clubs in the area. This is a stunning cove with clear waters and there are plenty of sun loungers, a seafood restaurant and waiter service in case you would like to sip a cocktail as you listen to the crashing waves. Due to its popularity, it is worth booking a spot at this beach club in advance online in busier months to guarantee a spot.
If you would prefer a stroll or a swim at a quieter beach, there are plenty along the coastline, including Laurito Beach, a tiny tucked-away bay which can be reached easily by a short boat ride from Positano. This beach is nestled between tall cliffs and also has an excellent restaurant so you could stay all day.
The centre of Positano also has several beaches plus all the cafes, shops and restaurants you could need. At only 2km from the villa, this iconic Amalfi Coast town can be reached easily by car or bus. Though the small town is known for its beaches and amazing views out to sea, make sure to explore the charming centre too. Wander the winding medieval streets lined with colourful buildings and visit cafes and shops along the way. If you would like to go shopping for locally made goods, then Limoncello should be at the top of your list, but also look out for vendors selling handmade sandals produced here for centuries.
A must-see attraction is the Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, a beautiful medieval church with a tiled domed roof and a Byzantine statue of the Madonna and child. History lovers can also visit the Roman archaeological museum near the church. Positano is a mainly pedestrianised town, so it is lovely to wander around the charming narrow streets connected by steps. As Positano is so close, you can even visit just for dinner in the evening after a beach day; you will find a wide range of excellent restaurants ranging from small casual eateries to Michelin-starred restaurants. If you want to stay out late and dance the night away, visit the unique Music on the Rocks, a nightclub built into a cave in the cliffs!
A wonderful day trip from Positano is to take a boat to the enchanting island of Capri, and the enjoyable journey takes around 40-minutes. Capri is a famous island known for being popular with celebrities and people visiting by yacht during the summer months. On the island, there are plenty of designer boutiques and fine dining restaurants. If you would prefer to visit some natural attractions, there are impressive caves, including the Blue Grotto, beaches, swimming spots and botanical gardens.
Some other towns that can be reached from the villa include Amalfi town, which is 20km away by car, or the mountain-top Ravello, which is 30km away and is a lovely town, plus the starting point for plenty of scenic hiking routes.
