About this property

Nestled amidst the serene beauty of Italy's most dramatic lake, Lake Como, lies Villa Nelson, a timeless testament to luxury and tranquillity. This exquisite haven, amongst Lombardy's lush forests, was born from the dreams of a Milanese architect and his family over half a century ago.

Crossing the threshold, you are greeted by interiors that exude warmth and comfort. Each room, lovingly designed and adorned with bespoke furnishings, tells its own story. The master bedroom, a sanctuary on the first floor, offers sweeping views of the majestic Alps through traditional French windows. Here, antique bedside tables and a 15th-century chest of drawers whisper tales of bygone eras, while the en-suite bathroom, adorned in sage green and natural wood, promises moments of indulgent relaxation in its fabulously large bathtub.

Wandering through Villa Nelson, you encounter the distinctive personalities of its owners reflected in every corner. The double bedroom on the ground floor, with its oak floor and custom-made oak bookshelves, beckons with the promise of literary escapades, while the twin bedroom, adorned with a Venetian painting, invites you to embrace your creative side. One of the single bedrooms, once painted in bold hues of green and red, now offers a tranquil retreat with its antique bookcase and sunlit window.

Outside, Villa Nelson's enchanting gardens beckon you to embrace nature's splendour. A vast private garden framed by towering trees offers a sanctuary for quiet contemplation or joyful exploration. The eco-pool, a shimmering oasis amidst the verdant landscape, tempts you to immerse yourself in its refreshing waters.

We have been lucky enough to stay at Villa Nelson three times. Each time there has been something new and wonderful to find - a new place to sit, a new view, a previously unseen beautiful work of art, and hopefully, with more visits, there will be previously unseen joys. This is a real family home and there is a strong sense that Villa Nelson has enjoyed many evenings of family gathered around the fire in the winter, celebratory dinners enjoyed and lazy summer afternoons around the pool. The setting sun around the spectacular natural pool with the Alps in the distance is a treat that no one should miss.

We were a group of old friends meeting up and had a fabulous time, with swimming and dining the main focus of every day! We rode bikes through the woods, took a speedboat out on Lake Como, hiked through the WW1 battlefields, visited Santa Maria del Monte and had a wonderful lunch two thousand feet above the lake. The only challenge was deciding what to do each day and what we would ask the Chef to create for us! The owner was so helpful about our booking, nothing was too much bother, even though we came from all over the world!

We really enjoyed the villa. Everything was beautiful and spacious. Plenty of room to spread your wings or just curl up with a good book. Quiet and serene. Would definitely go back. Thanks to the owners for making this a magical vacation.
