Sitting at roughly 900 metres above sea level, this rustic hideaway is one of only three traditional cabins set among meadows, forested slopes and the gentle flow of the Algone stream. With zero light pollution, the night skies are dazzling - perfect for stargazing and reconnecting with nature in its purest form.
Accessible via the road through the valley, Baita Michelina is ideally placed for those seeking a rural base for outdoor pursuits. Thanks to the valley’s regulated entry, there is less traffic than many Alpine regions. A couple of dining options (typically open May to September) are available around 5km away, while other restaurants and amenities are a 20-minute drive in the towns of Stenico and Ponte Arche.
Positioned at the foot of the unesco-listed Brenta Dolomites, the area is a haven for summer hiking, mountain biking and scenic walks (bike rentals from Ponte Arche can even be delivered to your door). In the colder months, ski resorts such as Madonna di Campiglio and Paganella are reachable within an hour.
The region’s rich cultural heritage adds further appeal. Explore the dramatic Stenico Castle (11km) or the prehistoric stilt house site at Fiavé (22km), also recognised by unesco.
