About this property

Surrounded by gorgeous gardens, oaks and chestnut trees, Bosco Ai Frati offers the ideal scenery to enjoy a Tuscan glass of wine whilst lounging in a shaded sitting area. Enchanting outdoor spaces wrap their way around this beautifully renovated Tuscan farmhouse. Be it the careful balance of character features and modern facilities or the secluded countryside setting; there is an air of complete relaxation that shrouds the entire property.

Spread over three floors, the villa's interiors have been carefully restored, with terracotta floors, exposed beams and traditional decor, all highlighted in the bright, generously sized rooms. There are six bedrooms, accommodating twelve guests, with spacious living areas where you can enjoy time together.

On the villa’s ground floor, you will find a fully equipped kitchen, social dining room and spacious living room. The kitchen opens out to an al-fresco dining space, elegantly incorporating the interior and exterior spaces. The central marble table in the kitchen offers space to enjoy a handful of in-house cooking experiences with a private chef. Or why not partake in a cooking class, pasta-making and ancient grain bread-making classes, for example. With a wine cooler in the pantry, refreshments are always on hand, making your stay in Tuscany as special as you could imagine. As you walk through the living room, the villa's traditional architecture becomes evident, with exposed beams, terracotta tiles and a huge fireplace. With the doors open, sunlight bounces around the room, and you can curl up on the sofas, reading a book or switching on the TV, awarding yourself a well-deserved rest! There is also a recreation room with a full-size pool table, perfect for some fun and games with your loved ones.

There are five bedrooms on the first floor, with a sixth double bedroom located on the lower ground floor accessed via the courtyard. Lovingly furnished, the bedrooms have everything you need to enjoy a comfortable stay, with glorious countryside views and air conditioning. There are four en-suite bathrooms and one bathroom for the remaining rooms to share. The first floor also has another living room with a cosy open fireplace and space to rest and restore.

Outside there are many charming spots in which to relax. Whether you are gathered around the dining table, sharing a bottle of chilled wine on the covered terrace by the pool, or enjoying a moment of calm as you read a book in the garden, every corner offers another idyllic hideaway.

Bosco Ai Frati is the perfect blend of character and comfort and was once owned by the famous Medici family. The surrounding 1500-acre estate stretches across two valleys and is an organic farm and a certified white truffle hunting ground.

Florence is just 30km away, so it is a must-visit during your stay. There is plenty to do and see here, so you could visit this glorious city several times. Or if you fancy a quieter day trip, head to Fiesole just outside of Florence. Unknown by many, this small town hides a wealth of surprises: the massive stones that make up the Etruscan walls, the remains of Roman baths, and the Roman amphitheatre that still serves as a stage for summer events. The small city centre is home to a wide range of historical sites, churches and parks where visitors can spend some time escaping from the hustle and bustle of Florence.

Please note that Bosco Ai Frati is actually located in the region of Tuscany but is very close to the Chianti border.

Located 30km from Florence, this fully staffed villa is a short drive from Tuscany’s artistic and cultural hubs while being ideally positioned in the wonderfully secluded countryside. Four acres of vibrant gardens surround the villa, planted with centuries-old oaks and chestnut trees, Mediterranean flowers and aromatic shrubs. Bordering the villa grounds, the estate boasts acres of Sunflower filled landscapes, painting the Schifanoia valley in yellow.

Florence has a vast range of eateries to suit all tastes, and whether you fancy fine dining, street food or a traditional meal in a rustic trattoria, you can find it all close by. The streets also have atmospheric bars where you can sit al-fresco and chat the night away over a glass of local wine or a cocktail. Or perhaps you have more of a sweet tooth and would love to wander the pretty streets while enjoying gelato.

Known for its Renaissance art and architecture, it will come as no surprise that the city of Florence is filled with the most impressive palaces, churches, museums and art galleries. There are so many that it is difficult to fit everything into one visit, so head out early to beat the queues if you are planning on a busy itinerary. Some key attractions are The Uffizi Gallery, Michelangelo’s statue of David, located in the incredible Galleria dell’Accademia and the former Medici palaces, The Palazzo Vecchio and The Palazzo Pitti. These vast galleries and Grand Duchal Palace will each take half a day or more to visit as there is so much to see and do!

Siena, Pienza, Chianti, Lucca and Pisa are all conveniently reachable in under two hours drive from the villa, so you can link your trip with another city or take a day trip to one or two of these beautiful places.

The whole family came and we all loved it. The privacy, the beautiful grounds, the pool, many bedrooms with bathrooms for each of us, the fantastic breakfasts cooked every morning by Rita... This was a dream vacation location. Federica who was our contact and checked us in and out was a wealth of information and helped us with activities and questions. Such nice people that took care of us. The house is just beautiful and comfortable and very clean. The small towns nearby were fun to explore and we met the nicest people who run the businesses. We would stay here again and again. Our daughter asked if she could have her wedding here. Highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at Bosco Ai Frati for two weeks in July. We selected this house because we were looking for a villa with daily housekeeping close to Florence. The villa is so beautiful with such a great attention to details. Beautiful large outdoor pool. Great service and food. We also liked all the activities available. We ended up doing the Truffle Hunting Tour and the visit to Bosco ai Frati. Everything was great and we would definitely go back.

It was impressively restored and immaculately clean. We had a lovely time and the breakfast provided was outstanding. I would love to return.
