Castellare Corti is a lovely villa situated in the Chianti area between the provinces of Florence and Siena in central Italy. The location, in the heart of Tuscany, is rich in history with many Renaissance cities and towns nearby, including Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, and Volterra.
The villa is set in a charming hamlet shared with a few other local families. For larger groups, guests can also book Cottage Elsa, an independent villa with 4 bedrooms and private pool located within the hamlet just a short walk away.
Step inside this beautiful stone villa and you will be met by traditional features such as wooden beams, terracotta tiled floors, arched ceilings and vast fireplaces. These authentic touches throughout are combined with white walls, crisp linens and country-style furniture to create a comfortable and bright space for up to 13 guests to enjoy.
Outside an oasis of verdant lawns, olive trees and fragrant roses awaits! There are various outdoor dining spaces as well as sun loungers and sofas that are perfect for relaxing with a good book or topping up your tan. The lovely, private swimming pool is beautifully positioned and surrounded by gardens and vineyards. A day lounging by the pool in the Tuscan sun is well deserved and an occasional dip in the pool is the perfect way to cool off.
There are many interesting country roads to travel on and breathtaking vistas to enjoy in the surrounding area. Cycling or riding motorbikes or scooters are all great ways to enjoy the scenery and all are available from rental agencies nearby the villa. Amid the vineyards, olive groves, roses and Mediterranean plants and herbs, are the scents, tastes and colours of this special region.
When you wish to explore more of this stunning region, head to the historic and enchanting towns of Volterra and San Gimignano or visit the idyllic village of San Miniato. Pisa, Florence and Siena are also within easy driving distance of Castellare Corti and are amazing cities to visit for a day trip.
Castellare Corti is situated near Florence in Chianti area in the heart of Tuscany. Around 2km from the town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and within easy reach of some of the region's most-loved cities, it is ideally located for a holiday in central Italy.
In nearby Tavarnelle Val di Pesa you will find a handful of restaurants and a supermarket. The town also boasts a Gothic church, the church of Santa Lucia, and some nice artisan shops.
In the town Poggibonsi, approximately 13km away, there is a large supermarket and wide selection of shops as well as many historic sites. The Fortezza Medicea di Poggio Imperiale is an unfinished Medici Fortress which hosts concerts in summer while the Convento di San Lucchess is another example of gothic architecture which is worth visiting for its interior artworks too.
Volterra and San Gimignano should also form part of your holiday itinerary. Volterra is a charming medieval town with Renaissance architecture as well as a fascinating Etruscan history which can be reached in under an hour's drive, while the famous San Gimignano is much loved by tourists due to its enchanting lanes and many towers and can be reached in just over half an hour by car.
The artistic delights of both Florence (30km) and Siena (50km) can also be reached by car for the most wonderful day out, admiring the incredible Tuscan landscapes as you drive through the vineyards and olive groves.
No trip to Tuscany is complete without a visit to Pisa, which is just over an hour's drive away from Castellare Corti (83km). It is worth seeing not just for its leaning tower, but also it's variety of restaurants, shops and Piazza dei Miracoli.

Tuscany is a painting but at Villa Castellare you are inside the painting. Everything you need is available, a well-decorated house, generous pool, medieval towns in easy reach, and welcoming hosts who can help with any activities. You will relax the moment you arrive and regret the moment you will leave.

Castellare is a very special place. We have stayed here twice! Our first trip was with family in 2022, and we returned with friends in 2024. The villa is beautiful. the history of the villa is interesting as an old farm house, and the accommodations are elegant yet simple and suited a group of up to 12 people very well. Annagloria, Enzo, Gemma, and Bianca are the owners and family, and they ensure an absolutely personalized and perfect stay. Gemma was our "concierge" and planned all activities with us in advance so our itinerary was set upon arrival. Each day had one activity and left plenty of "villa time". Annagloria and her family could not have been more attentive to our every wish and "need"; they were available to help and never intrusive. Would highly recommend a chef for breakfasts and dinners! This also includes Apertivo, held on the back covered porch on the sofas at sunset. Beautiful wind down time. The food was beautifully presented and was absolutely delicious. We went out to dinner in Florence one evening, and there really is no need! The meals were superb! We have stayed in this villa twice, and we look forward to our next trip to the villa. We are planning to go every 2 years!

My spouse and I just spent a delightful week with friends, six couples from across the US, at Castellare Corti. Our hosts Annagloria, Enzo and Gemma, as well as our delightful cook, daily staff and excellent drivers were all warm, knowledgeable and genuinely welcoming from the planning of our trip and throughout our wonderful stay. It was perfect for our large group! We're already thinking about returning with our grown children next year! What a wonderful way to experience Tuscany!!
