About this property

Villa Buccelatto is a majestic, rustic farmhouse-style home within enchanting, expansive grounds, offering a traditional Tuscan experience, along with top-class services and classically elegant architecture.

This sumptuous home is brimming with local flavour: sloping terracotta roof, pretty wooden shutters, original stone and framed at every turn by prettily creeping trellis. Nestled on a sloping hillside, with Renaissance art-worthy views of the surrounding hills and rolling countryside, guests will enjoy a veritable tranquil and green oasis.

Classically handsome, this home offers charismatic proportions, and such graceful finishes! The grounds at Villa Buccelatto are simply enchanting: this is a place to truly escape the crowds and adjust the pace, to enjoy outdoor living, elegant al fresco dining, reclining in the covered terrace with a glass of wine as the sun softens over the hills, or an invigorating morning swim followed by breakfast overlooking the immaculate lawns.

This romantic home has unparalleled outdoor living spaces: from the many dining spots, whether it be a group meal or a more intimate “Tete-à-Tete,” a picnic in the woodlands, a spot of yoga or meditation in the treehouse style wooden “deck,” or simply reclining by the dazzling pool with a good book amid the old stone walls punctuated with pretty wild flowers in a hammock, or a long and lazy lunch of wood-fired pizza from the oven.

Magical and mystical when lit up at night, this home transports guests away from the strains of modern living and the bustle of the crowds. There is even a conservatory studio, with panoramic views; ideal for artists or writers - to work from ‘a room with a view!’

Villa Buccelatto can accommodate fourteen guests across six bedrooms and five bathrooms. The interiors offer a blend of rustic farmhouse charm and sleek contemporary comforts. This characterful home is brimming with artistry and designer flair, rich with antique polished wood furnishings, flagstone floors, rich oriental rugs and charming botanical themed artwork.

The kitchen is every inch the farmhouse kitchen, with huge double cooker and eat-in facilities; ideal for the family to relax and enjoy a leisurely breakfast after a refreshing morning swim. There is a separate dining room, resplendent with artwork, silk lamps, and opulently decorative artefacts and polished brass frames and mirrors.

This flamboyant home offers exposed wooden beams and original stonework, along with palatial touches for a very regal toned stay! The elegant four-poster beds and lavish fabrics, beautiful oil paintings, plush antique dressing tables and sumptuous proportions provide an imperial feel.

The bedrooms are sedated, tranquil and artfully executed; finished in exquisite pastel tones of pistachio, peach, creams, sherbet pinks and dusty blues, with opulent touches, charming writing desks and fluffy robes and towels, guests are guaranteed a restorative stay!

Further luxurious features are the treatment room (massage or beauty), with a powder pink chaise-long and sumptuous views, and a very suave mezzanine level library. Guests can truly forget the time in this idyllic nook, get lost in creative pursuits or a book.

Guests can arrive at Villa Buccelatto and relax in the knowledge that every comfort and convenience has been taken care of; this home has wifi, air conditioning, a sumptuous private pool and hotel-grade staff services (chef and maid.) Guests can simply arrive, and unwind to adopt the Tuscan pace of life!

Villa Buccelatto is every inch the authentic Tuscan villa, offering rustic and secluded tranquillity with top-grade finishes and impeccable services, enchanting outdoor living and stylishly adorned interiors, that guests will simply lose track of time and imbibe all this magical spot has to offer!

This glorious home is nestled in a rural hillside spot, near Marlia, which is in the historically-rich Lucca region.

Lucca is just north of Pisa, located on a plain at the foot of the Apuan Alps, less than half an hour from the Versilia coast.

The Villa Reale di Marlia is just a short distance from Villa Buccelatto; this is one of Italy’s most important historical residences; a Renaissance palace that was home to Elisa Baciocchi, Napoleon's sister, sovereign of Lucca and later of Tuscany. Today this magnificent stately home draws visitors for its wonderful green gardens including rose gardens, green avenues and sedate ponds, lakes and expansive grounds. This is a wonderful green oasis, ideal for picnics or summertime open-air concerts and jazz festivals.

Rich with history, visitors will observe the trace of the Roman amphitheatre at Lucca that can be seen in the shape of the Piazza dell’Anfiteatro to the archaeological remains under the twelfth-century church of Saints Giovanni and Reparata, to the villas and towers from the twelfth to sixteenth centuries.

Today the original city walls are a pedestrian promenade - one of Lucca’s main attractions. Whether it be a bike ride or a stroll around the city perimeter or enjoying a gelato on one of the many shaded benches, the original city walls provide a perfect vantage point for a break in sightseeing.

Top attractions include the Piazza of San Michele, as well as the bustling weekly market and the wonderful array of restaurants.

Both Florence and Pisa are a very achievable day trip.

The region is known for its rich culinary heritage, including truffles, cured meats and traditional sweets and pastries. Florence and Siena are a both no more than an hour’s drive from the villa.

Close to the main cities in Tuscany know for their artistic heritage: Pietrasanta, famous for art galleries and the excellent array of restaurants, this area of Northern Tuscany is rich with culture and history: archaeological sites, national parks, castles, mountain trails and open-air theatre, guests will have ample options to choose from.

The Tuscan landscape is considered among the best that Italy has to offer, with its splendid hills, elegant architecture, olive trees and vineyards the views at every turn are enchanting and awash with seasonally changing colours.
