The town – Ficulle is a hidden Italian gem. Having less tourists allows you to experience real Italian culture and hospitality. Beautiful architecture, incredible views, delicious food and a wonderful winery. Casa Il Poeta – Experience amazing historic architecture with all the modern conveniences.

A hidden gem in a small village surrounded by the inspirational Umbrian countryside. This beautiful [house/terrace] over several levels has amazing views and is both cosy and luxurious. It speaks of a bygone era and has been restored to welcome you and your friends such that you never want to leave. Located between Florence and Rome in the village of Ficulle you are surrounded by rolling hills, wonderful restaurants, wineries and fragrant walking trails. Orvietto is an amazing historical fortified town nearby with cobblestone streets, a breathtaking cathedral (duomo), bespoke shops and history dating back to etruscan times. Explore Ficulle with local artisans producing Olive Oil, to original grape crushing for wine, to truffle tours and meet the local potter and see how he brings clay to life.

Ficulle is an Umbrian gem – and this home in its very center was uniquely magnificent experience for us. Absolutely no detail has been overlooked in the restoration and renovation of this centuries-old structure. From the glass-bottomed entrance and its view of the mysterious crypt below, to the rooftop terrace and its soaring views of the bucolic Italian landscape, we will never forget our stay here. Every room offers special elements of architectural preservation, and the amenities of lighting, plumbing, bedding and so on are all first-class. The market’s just across the cobbled lane, and there’s a baker next door – we never wanted to leave Ficulle, despite the allure of Rome being only an hour away! We’re grateful for the time we have spent here.
