Matapouri Beach Family Haven has plenty of room to run around outside and open plan living inside, make this a perfect home for family holidays. You'll love being just a short flat walk to the gorgeous Matapouri Bay, where there is golden sand on a picture perfect beach - a safe playground for both kids and adults.

With four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and an extra toilet, plus a large laundry, there is plenty of space for groups of up to eight people. This house has a lovely relaxing holiday feel, with sliding doors that open up the living area to the outside, a bar where you can create your own special holiday cocktails and an outdoor area to sit around on those balmy Northland summer evenings. There is even a cosy wood-fire in the lounge for winter holidays.

There is everything you need here - the kitchen is spacious and very well equipped (oodles of fridge space), three toilets, two showers and a bath so no queuing for the bathroom! There's even unlimited WIFI and room to park cars and the boat!

Within a short drive is Sandy Bay (renowned surf beach), Woolleys Bay (great for boogie boarding, walking, swimming), Whale Bay (where bush meets the sand - an idyllic picnic spot), and Matapouri Bay (the jewel of Tutukaka Coast). Tutukaka is the place to launch your boat, wander the shops and cafes, or catch a dive expedition to the Poor Knights Islands. Further on from Tutukaka is Ngunguru, a seaside village on the estuary with a well-stocked superette, hairdresser, beauty therapist and takeaways, golf course, sports complex, cafes.

A 10-minute drive from Tutukaka or a 2 hour 25 minute drive from Auckland and you'll find yourself in the marine paradise that is Matapouri. Matapouri is one of those idyllic spots, where every corner you turn you'll find yourself in awe as you stumble upon another azure blue cove lined with Pohutukawa or golden dunes. There's much to explore with Whale Bay nearby being accessed via a 15 minute bush walk, and of course the legendary mermaid pools a large natural set of rock pools set against the ocean perfect for swimming in at low tide.
