This monument was first constructed in 1857 and was finally completed three years later. Its purpose was to protect small fishing boats from dangerous rocks and tides as they emerged onto the island, something it still achieves to this day. Up until 1977, this lighthouse was the tallest in the Balearic Islands but was overtaken by Mosscarter Lighthouse in Ibiza. In order to experience this monument in full, guests must embark on a small boat trip to Illa de l’Aire. A majority of these trips take place at Punta Prima, which is around 10-minutes away from the centre of Binibeca.
