A peaceful idyll enjoying seclusion within the lush countryside and yet just a short distance from the village of San Rafael, Villa Raven is a delightful holiday home with plenty of authentic character.
Originally designed as a family summer home, the love and care put into this villa are clear to see. With pretty pink walls to both the exterior and interior and furnishings made from natural materials throughout, there’s a lovely welcoming warmth to Villa Raven.
Set over two floors, each room in the villa is spacious and characterful. The living room features two large sofas and a wicker chair, providing plenty of space for all the family to watch a film together or to enjoy a cosy fire in the evenings. There are patio doors that lead straight out onto to a partially covered terrace. The dining room is accessed via several steps from the living space and has a table and chairs for family dinners. There are also further doors that open onto the outside area. The well-equipped kitchen features another small table with chairs that are ideal for breakfasts. It also has a coffee machine and juicer for those quick morning drinks at the breakfast bar.
There are three bedrooms, with one having a double bed and single beds in the other two. One bedroom enjoys an en-suite bathroom with luxury bathtub and separate shower and doors that open onto a terrace with seating area. There are a further two bathrooms with a shower each.
The outside space is extensive and includes several terraces with outdoor furniture for relaxing. The lawned gardens are home to a large, private swimming pool that’s surrounded by a terrace with a selection of sun loungers. There’s also a charming pergola with a rustic dining table that seats up to 10 people and a sofa for enjoying a pre-dinner drink as your meal cooks away on the nearby built-in barbecue.
On the main road between San Antonio and Ibiza Town, San Rafael is small but full of character. The village is the sole artisan area for craftsmanship on the entire island, due to its traditional pottery workshops. One workshop, in particular, makes items that are made in the same way as they were thousands of years ago. Also of interest here is the pretty, whitewashed church that dates back to the 18th century. Set upon a hill, you can enjoy fantastic views over Ibiza Town and its harbour. There’s a good selection of restaurants for leisurely lunches or dinners out.
Ibiza Town is around a 15-minute drive from the villa and is the biggest city on the island. Combining a fascinating mix of the old and the new, it’s a great place to spend a day out with the family. Then make your way up to the old hilltop town with its cobbled streets and a central square with galleries, bars and restaurants. Stroll round ancient buildings and then explore the port area to get a feel for how the town has evolved and expanded over the centuries. The more modern area of Ibiza Town is lively and full of shopping opportunities and elegant eateries.
