Traditional in design and situated in a quiet and private area, Finca Albarca is a beautifully renovated country house accommodating up to eight guests. Featuring a modern interior with stunning rustic touches, this two-storey property has everything you and your guests need to enjoy a luxurious and memorable stay, including satellite TVs in all rooms, WiFi, air conditioning - and, of course, a large private pool.
The decor throughout is fresh and white, with beautiful wooden ceiling beams, hardwood furniture and country cottage-style tiled floors. The living area features a cream corner sofa - perfect for sinking into after a busy day or for snuggling up to watch a film, and the spacious kitchen/diner, complete with a warming fireplace, offers guests plenty of room to rustle up and enjoy delicious home-cooked meals. All of the high-end appliances and amenities you’ll need during your stay are here, including an oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, and plenty of cookware, crockery and utensils. The villa even has a handy laundry room with independent exterior access - perfect for those who want to travel a little lighter, saving room in their luggage for souvenirs!
On the ground floor, you’ll also find two bathrooms - one with a shower and one with a bathtub, as well as two of the villa’s bedrooms; a twin room and a double that features an en suite bathroom. Finca Albarca’s bedrooms are decorated to the same high standard as the rest of the villa, with bright white walls, rustic wooden beams, quality furniture and flatscreen TVs for lazy morning viewing. A further two bedrooms can be found on the first floor - another twin and a double, as well as a separate bathroom with a bathtub.
Finca Albarca is set in a quiet area surrounded by orchards and overlooked by a stunning mountain landscape, giving guests a feeling of total isolation - all while being just 2km from Santa Gertrudis and all it has to offer in the way of bars, restaurants and shops, and just 5km from the nearest beach. The outdoor spaces feature a covered alfresco dining area and plenty of luxurious sun loungers around the private pool - the perfect place to cool off and relax after a day of exploring the local area.
Finca Albarca is located close to the pretty rural village of Santa Gertrudis - one of Ibiza's most beautiful areas and a firm favourite with both locals and visitors. People come here to enjoy the village's relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere, delightful central square, and agricultural scenery, which is home to lush fruit orchards, sheep, goats, and the island's only dairy cows. Santa Gertrudis' is an area steeped in tradition, and the main village square is overlooked by its whitewashed fortress church, which has a distinctive yellow tower. There is a pedestrian-friendly plaza where you'll find plenty in the way of bars, restaurants and shops, so you'll find plenty to see and do here without having to travel further afield if you don't want to.
Santa Gertrudis has a wonderfully family-friendly vibe, where children can be found playing in the beautifully lit square or fabulous playground late into the evening after dining with their families on the terraces. There are little boutiques and arts and crafts shops open day and night here, so visitors can often be seen strolling through the streets long after the sun has gone down, enjoying Santa Gertrudis' sophisticated, bohemian vibe. The village is home to many artists, musicians and sculptors, and you'll find their works everywhere here in the local galleries, and most famously at Bar Costa, where during the hippy era of the 60s, penniless artists would come to swap paintings for food.
Fresh, local produce is very much on the menu here, with the surrounding areas being home to a variety of fruit and vegetable farms that supply the local restaurants and eateries. Whether you're craving classic Spanish tapas, hearty Italian food, or delicious and innovative vegetarian and vegan options, you'll be spoilt for choice during your stay in the village. Oliver recommends dining at Gitano, whose dining terrace is one of the loveliest spots in the village - we suggest making a reservation as it can get quite busy during the summer months! Cocktail lovers will be in their element here, as the restaurant has a long and extensive list to choose from, and the food is first-rate, with a menu that includes ceviche, wonderfully light tempura and the most incredible sushi. Another popular restaurant in the village is Wild Beets, a stylishly contemporary plant-based restaurant that is popular with vegans and non-vegans alike and is famous for its clean, mostly raw, Instagram-friendly dishes. For those who enjoy fusion cuisine, there's La Paloma restaurant, popular with locals as well as tourists - and even a few celebs! - this Italian-Israeli-run restaurant offers an exciting Mediterranean/Middle-Eastern/North African fusion menu, offering excellent salads, solomillo steak and chicken shawarma, among other tempting dishes.
