Finca Formentor may be placed in the incredible and far-reaching countryside, but guests are still very close to a variety of local amenities and tourist attractions. Just 1.5km away is the town centre of Pollensa, a quaint region that is teeming with history. Placa de l’Almonia is just a 2-minute walk away from the centre of Pollensa and is home to a large house that served the poor during the troubling times of the 16th century. Thus, this square holds a large amount of significance for the local residents. Placa de l’Almonia also served as a battleground on 30th May 1550. During this conflict, the local residents of Pollensa defended their home town against ambushers. In turn, there is a remembrance ceremony on 2nd August, in order to thank those who risked their lives. This unique square is an ideal place to visit if you are a lover of European history.

Just 5km away from Finca Formentor is the Pollensa Golf Club, a highly-acclaimed establishment that offers some of the finest golfing facilities on the island. Its signature course contains two of Mallorca’s longest holes, which is ideal for guests who are looking for a challenge. During its 30 year history, Pollensa Golf Club has been working tirelessly to ensure that the local environment is protected and preserved whilst guests are using the course. The club only uses purified water in its lake, helping to conserve local habitats and ecosystems. Prices for this attraction can vary depending on the season but usually start at around €45 for nine holes.

The town of Pollensa is very community-focused, seen by its collection of local markets. The Pollensa Market is located within the main plaza of the town, making it a very accessible destination to visit during your travels. This market contains over 300 stalls, all of which are hosted by a diverse variety of native merchants. Markets such as this one give tourists a unique glimpse into the daily lives of some of the locals, giving you a more authentic experience. The stalls provide an array of clothes, craft items, and bags, which allows guests to pick up a few items to remind them of their wonderful trip. Pollensa Market is open every Sunday from 8 am till 1:30 pm.
