Villa Perdiu is located just a seven-minute drive from the charming fishing village of Fornells (not to be confused with Playa den Fornells), a quiet and traditional-style location set around a pretty harbour lined with palm trees and offering beautiful views across the bay. The village is the place on the island for enjoying sail-based water sports, and the wind conditions make it perfect for beginners. It's also home to some of the best specialist fish restaurants in Menorca.
The harbour square is a pleasant place to spend a sunny afternoon people-watching or enjoying refreshments from the little bars and cafes you'll find here. From here, you can enjoy some beautifully serene coastal walks to the neighbouring Playa den Fornells holiday resort. There’s no real beach here at Fornells, but there is a small stretch of coarse sand in the centre of the village (depending on recent storms) where the kids can play and paddle. Many visitors here hire kayaks from the harbour to reach the more remote bays that can be found opposite the village.
Nearby is Son Parc, home to Arenal Son Saura beach, which boasts clean, golden sands and clear, shallow waters. In some places, the surf is barely knee-deep, making it a popular choice for families with young children, and there's a lifeguard on duty here for extra peace of mind. Amenities include a parasol and sunbed hire, toilets, and disabled access - and it's an excellent spot for snorkelling, jet skiing, water skiing and windsurfing.
