Villa Aurora is set in Las Colinas, in the municipality of Olivella, where the landscape begins to shift from the Mediterranean coast into the hills of the Garraf. The setting gives guests the chance to enjoy a quieter, more residential side of the Sitges area while still having several contrasting places to explore nearby, from beaches and historic streets to vineyards, walking trails and small Catalan towns.
Garraf Natural Park is a major part of the appeal of this area. Its distinctive landscape is shaped by limestone hills, Mediterranean scrub, pine woodland, vineyards and old rural tracks, creating plenty of opportunities to get outdoors. The park has a network of marked walking routes, while routes around Olivella pass through countryside dotted with olive groves, vines, white pine and native Mediterranean vegetation.
For a change of pace, Sitges brings together the beach, culture, shopping and dining for which this stretch of the Catalan coast is known. The town has a choice of beaches, including central stretches such as La Ribera and the family-oriented Sant Sebastià, alongside smaller coves further along the coast. Away from the sand, the historic centre is made for wandering, with cobbled streets, old townhouses and buildings associated with Sitges’ Modernista heritage. Museums, galleries, independent shops, cafés and restaurants add plenty of reasons to stay into the evening, while the seafront promenade is ideal for an easy stroll before dinner.
Also worth exploring is Sant Pere de Ribes, which offers a more local perspective on the region. The municipality is closely connected to the surrounding vineyards and has a long wine-growing tradition, with several local wineries producing Penedès wines and cava. Food is another part of its appeal, with a strong focus on Mediterranean cooking and local produce, including regional wines, cheeses, artichokes and xató.
