About this property
Casa Fonteta is an impressive five-bedroom masia on the edge of the medieval village of Fonteta, where traditional Catalan architecture has been carefully reworked into a substantial contemporary home. With around 700 m² of interior space, it has the scale and facilities for larger groups while still feeling warm, private and connected to its surroundings.
The main living areas are bright and generous, with floor-to-ceiling windows opening towards the garden and countryside beyond. A large living room flows into the dining area and kitchen, while a TV lounge and library, games room and wine cellar give guests plenty of space to spread out. All five bedrooms are spacious suites with private bathrooms and countryside views, making the house particularly well suited to groups of couples or extended families.
Outside, Casa Fonteta is every bit as impressive. The landscaped garden includes a 19-metre swimming pool with panoramic views, a covered dining and chill-out terrace, pétanque area, basketball hoop and a multi-use court for badminton or volleyball.
Its position beside the protected Les Gavarres landscape adds another dimension, with walking and cycling routes close by, while Fonteta, La Bisbal d’Empordà and the Costa Brava are all within easy reach.
Casa Fonteta sits just outside Fonteta, one of the small historic villages that make up Forallac, right on the edge of the Les Gavarres massif. The setting feels wonderfully private, yet the village is close enough for guests to dip into local life, while walking and cycling routes lead directly into the surrounding hills and woodland. Fonteta is also a recognised starting point for routes into Les Gavarres, including trails towards Fitor and its megalithic sites.
La Bisbal d’Empordà is only a short drive away and is the main town of the Baix Empordà, known especially for its long-established ceramics tradition, independent shops and local food scene.
From here, guests are also well placed for exploring the wider region, including medieval villages such as Peratallada and Pals, as well as the beaches and coves of the Costa Brava. The combination of protected countryside, historic villages and relatively quick access to the coast makes Casa Fonteta especially appealing for guests who want a rural base without feeling remote.
