An impressive two bedroom villa in the mountains of Islamlar, Villa Turquaz lies within a short drive of Kalkan and enjoys some amazing views. This immaculate property’s highlights include a spacious pool terrace and a tempting indoor hot tub.
Complete with a remote-control water spout and step access, the magnificent outdoor pool is a spacious 9.6m x 4m in size. Alongside it, you’ll find a built-in barbecue and covered dining area, as well as seating and sun loungers with a parasol. There’s also a ping pong table and cosy swinging egg chair.
From here, step inside to the open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area. With elegant sofas and armchairs and a large flatscreen TV, this area enjoys plenty of natural light. The kitchen and dining table and chairs are just steps away – you’ll have all you need with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer, oven and gas hob.
A marble staircase leads upstairs where you have a lovely master bedroom with a king-size bed, TV and en-suite shower. There is also a private balcony with sea and countryside views. The second bedroom also has a balcony with the same outlook, and features twin beds and an en suite shower.
As well as a large indoor hot tub – 165cm across – you have fitness equipment in the same room, and a cloakroom with shower nearby. Air conditioning, Wi-Fi and parking for two cars are also available at Villa Turquaz.
Pretty Kalkan is easy to reach from Islamlar in around fifteen minutes – this charming town is one of the jewels of the Turquoise Coast and offers great dining and beach life. Turkey’s longest beach, the spectacular Patara, is only a twenty minute drive from the town.
Situated at the foot of the Taurus Mountains, Kalkan has become one of the most popular resorts on Turkey’s south-western coast. A town of a manageable size with a pebble beach, it attracts those looking to enjoy water sports as well as relaxed dining scene which nightlife.
Kalkan is known for its many of its rooftop restaurants and bars. While the prices may be on the high side, you will often be getting an amazing Mediterranean view thrown in. The area around the harbour is the natural place to start, and you’ll find a good range of food on offer. Traditional Turkish is surely the way to go, or you could try out the local seafood.
Beside the harbour, Kalkan’s pebble beach is a popular hangout. It gets very busy in high season, but you have other good options if you travel a little further. Accessible by bus, or a 20-minute drive away, the sandy Patara Beach is an especially lengthy one. Waters stay warm throughout the year, particularly from May until around November. For beach dining, pools, water sports and other attractions, there are plenty of beach clubs to check out along the coast.
Kalkan is located on the route of the Lycian Way, Turkey’s most popular long-distance walking trail. Diving is one activity that really draws visitors to Kalkan and the surrounding area. Organised tours will take you right to the best spots, with Kalkan Harbour the starting point.
All sorts of water sports are offered, with tuition available for beginners. You can find sea kayaking, jet-skiing and paddleboarding opportunities in the area. If you’re not a lover of the water, you can always get hiking – Kalkan lies on the 500km Lycian Way, Turkey’s longest walking route.
Wandering the Old Town should be a pleasant experience – streets run down to the harbour and are filled with cafés and boutiques to browse. Carpets, clothing, accessories and jewellery are all well represented. You can also visit a weekly market in Kalkan.
When you reach the harbour, you are sure to see plenty of wooden gulets – these handsome boats are often the craft of choice for visitors cruising around the area. Lots of little coves and islets may attract your attention along the way, while major points of interest include the underwater remnants of the city of Kekova.

Hello, first of all, the Villa itself is very beautiful, even more beautiful than the photos, we felt very comfortable with the larger family. The pool garden was very well maintained and clean. Only one of the sinks was not very clean when we entered the villa. The distance to the sea, yes, is 300 meters, but it is not possible to swim in the sea at that distance, unfortunately, it is a little farther than the distance of the sea that can be entered. We thought it would be entered after 300 meters, but we were wrong. Apart from these, we are very satisfied!

It was exactly the vacation we wanted. We had ten judgments as we went. I wonder if the view from the outside of the pool. On the contrary, the magnificent view of the forest and the sea, which is completely sheltered, does not appear from anywhere, and its clean air fascinates people. The house was much bigger and more beautiful than the pictures, we felt very comfortable as a family. What the house lacks is the medium size pot and ladle, apart from that, it's really perfect... next year it will be our choice for the Villa Turquaz.
