This is a lovely property near the villages of Sharnbrook in Bedfordshire and Kimbolton in Cambridgeshire. The Dower House provides a homely feel with flexible sleeping arrangements, making it ideal for friends and family to come and enjoy this great area. The property is accessed by a private driveway, adjoining the owners' home and surrounded by many outhouses. Enter this bright and airy cottage and into the sumptuous kitchen, it boasts all of the equipment you could wish for with exquisite fixtures and fittings as well as a breakfast bar and views across the surrounding land. The sitting room is the ultimate chilling spot in the winter, with stunning Chesterfield sofas, a 50" TV and a woodburning stove, you may never want to leave The Dower House!
The ground floor also offers a charming king size bedroom with a classy en-suite shower room and a Freeview TV. The first floor of the cottage provides a similar bedroom, with super king size bed as does the second floor which is under the eaves and has an uplifting velux window lighting up the room. The brilliance of The Dower House continues to the outside, it has a patio area with furniture, as well as an enclosed lawn with a BBQ, perfect for some quality time with family and friends. The villages of Kimbolton and Sharnbrook are small yet they offer you amenities as well as opportunities for walking and cycling.
The village of Melchbourne has a comprehensive network of footpaths and bridleways. A pub is within walking distance of The Dower House (you will need a torch if returning in the dark). Rushden is a short drive away with it's new shopping centre Rushden Lakes with a selection of shops, and lake surrounding it where you can hire canoes, or go for nature walks. Nearby are the popular places of Bedford River, Olney, Huntington and Cambridge which are all well worth a visit. The Dower House is a beautiful property in a great location.
Sharnbrook is a village and civil parish resting in the Borough of Bedford in Bedfordshire, England. It is located nine miles north of Bedford, and to the north of the River Great Ouse. The village is home to a range of shops which include a baker, butcher, supermarket, newsagent and grocer. Jason was very helpful while we were there. Wonderful for a comfortable cosy stay at this time of year. The Christmas decoration were up for us too. Open fire was lovely. We had ithe fire alight every day. They supply liquid soap in all rooms. Detergent and dish washer tablets. Also some cooking condiments. There was a welcome pack with wine, bread, butter, homemade shortbread biscuits & milk. Kitchen is very well equiped. We would definitely stay again Thank you
