Named after the previous owner, this much loved semi-detached family home, next door to the local primary school, provides spacious yet cosy accommodation in the heart of the pretty Cambridgeshire village of Offord D’Arcy. Close by lies Godmanchester, a historic and scenic town situated on the River Great Ouse, in the Ouse Valley.
There has been a settlement here since Viking times and the town retains much of its Roman history where history buff can visit the Porch Museum, as it is home to many local artefacts and is a treasure trove of information about the history of the town. Also a ‘must visit’ is the university city of Cambridge with its guided walks, numerous museums, including the famous Fitzwilliam, punting on the River Cam, open top bus tours and great shops and restaurants.
To fit it all in, you will need to make several visits, and Cambridge’s network of park-and-ride systems makes this very easy to do. Alternatively, you can pop into Huntingdon and take the train, which also runs to Ely with its magnificent cathedral, or even be in the heart of London in around an hour. Even closer lies Grafham Water, which offers water sports and is a great place for a stroll, picnic or family day out. Whatever you decide to do, you’ll undoubtedly be pleased to return to Pam’s Plaice and enjoy dinner in the light and airy conservatory, which just seems to bring the outside in, or in the pretty rear garden, while you plan adventures yet to be had. Lovely house. Clean and well equipped. With a lovely secure garden that caught the sun during the day.The pile of dog towels were a nice touch and much appreciated.In a very good location to visit lots of different places, especially for walking the dogs.Would recommend the area and the cottage.The only slight negative I have is that I booked as it was advertised as being dog friendly. So I was very surprised to find the stair gate & no dogs beyond this point at the bottom of the stairs, although I appreciate that this may be because of other guests using the property? As dogs are not allowed on the furniture how are you supposed to stop them going on the furniture overnight if you're asleep upstairs! And if you have dogs that are used to sleeping upstairs how are you supposed to stop them crying or barking through the night?

A lovely home from home, very well equipped with everything you need. Comfortable bed and a very good shower. Safe garden for the dog. Millennium Park a few minutes away great for morning walk with the dog. Jenny the owner was a lovely lady, she left us milk wine and chocolates. Would love to return in the future.
