Guests say

Rookery Cottage is a charming, peaceful retreat in a rural setting, ideal for those seeking tranquillity and a break from city life. Guests appreciated the spacious garden, comfortable interiors, and proximity to local attractions and dog-friendly areas. While the cottage is well-equipped and cosy, some noted that cleanliness and garden maintenance could be improved, and the steep stairs may not suit everyone. The property is particularly suited to families and dog owners, with plenty of outdoor space to enjoy.

Several guests found the cottage clean and tidy, but others reported issues such as cobwebs, dead insects, and an unclean oven and water heater. A few suggested a more thorough cleaning between stays would enhance the experience.

The cottage's secluded, peaceful location and rural views were highly praised. Guests enjoyed the quiet surroundings and easy access to local attractions, though some found it tricky to locate initially and noted that nearby walking paths could be overgrown.

Most guests found the cottage cosy, comfortable, and well-equipped, with hot showers and comfy bedrooms. However, the steep and uneven stairs may not be suitable for everyone, particularly those with mobility issues.

The cottage offers good amenities, including a large garden and well-equipped kitchen, but some guests mentioned the need for better outdoor seating, improved lighting, clearer instructions for appliances, and more regular garden maintenance.

There were no mentions of welcome gifts or extra thoughtful touches in the reviews, so a score cannot be provided for this category.

Lovely holiday cottage, very clean and homely. Great location, we took day trips to cambridge and the train into London. We didn't bring our dog due to the heatwave but the field beside the cottage and footpaths surrounding would have been perfect for her. The only thing missing was some comfortable outside seating, we ended up popping to the local retail park so buy some foldout chairs. So if you want to enjoy the garden to relax and read pack some camping chairs.

We had such a beautiful stay here. We didn’t realise the whole adjoining field was ours! My little boys loved going over the ‘bridge’ to get to the field and charging around. Great setting for a BBQ and true relax and unwind, especially watching the sun set over the field. We went to Grafham water, eat n bowl soft play and Johnson’s zoo on our stay with our little ones and all great days and very affordable days out close by for families. We would definitely come back for a break away from busy life.
