Pear Tree Cottage is lovely, with stylish, spacious accommodation and had everything we could want for a week long stay. However a few issues marred our visit, including oven not working, hot water issues in the main bathroom, one TV which didn’t work and the other one packing up on day four, barbecue with broken thermostat.. I could go on. The housekeeper was very efficient and pleasant trying to deal with the problems but there was simply a feeling that the house wasn’t being properly maintained for lettings. We were given a small discount but we’d rather have had the house in tip top working condition. The outside barbecue area could also have done with a proper sweep and clean.. I had to do it before we ate out there. Lovely village though and great house - just a bit more TLC would make it perfect.

Nevermind 5 stars this property gets 10 for the wow factor!! Elegantly luxurious throughout and dotted with items from my favourite store on earth - Daylesford Organic Farm Shop. The open fires, the beautiful Christmas decorations and of course the location made for quite possibly the best Christmas ever!!! If you are considering this property don't hesitate to book. An enormous thank you to Rural Retreats themselves for all they have done, of course we already have another spectacular cottage from your collection booked for Christmas 2020!

It is a beautiful property and the photographs are amazing. Unfortunately there are a few things which I felt let it down. The heating wasn't working and we were cold. We were led to believe that the underfloor heating wasn't working because there was a problem with the Wifi. We resorted to blow heaters which were in the cupboard and looked well used, so not sure this was a one off!!. The central heating wasn't working either and after a cold Friday night we found that it had been switched off at the boiler, so we fixed this.
