The property's location is praised for its quiet countryside setting and proximity to local villages and attractions in the Cotswolds, making it an ideal base for exploring the area.

Comfort is highlighted by guests, with positive comments on the comfortable beds and cosy atmosphere. However, a few guests suggested improvements in shower facilities, which slightly affects the comfort score.

The hosts' thoughtfulness is evident from mentions of gifts like local honey and the overall welcoming atmosphere. However, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, this is noted with appreciation but not expectation.

About this property

What a lovely location! Foxhill Annex is a delightful, single storey home approached via a long drive through some stunning open Cotswolds' countryside. Passing through a few barns, you arrive at the farm, beautifully manicured and ordered and with your cottage on one level facing the owner's stunning Cotswolds house across the courtyard. The property is simply yet comfortably furnished with an open plan living space, delightful bedroom and relaxing bathroom all presented in contemporary colours. Across the courtyard is a garden which the welcoming owners are happy for guests to use with open and uninterrupted views across the countryside.

Located in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the historic village of Bourton-on-the-Water dates back to Neolithic times with over 100 buildings being Grade II listed or higher. The picturesque high street nestles alongside the River Windrush over which several low stone bridges span, which is why Bourton-on-the-Water is known as the Venice in the Cotswolds. Tradition states that an annual football match is played in the summer, in the River Windrush with the banks lined with spectators, with the aim to score as many goals as possible and get as wet as possible! The village has an eclectic range of visitor attractions, including The Model Village, Cotswold Motor Museum, Birdland Park and Gardens as well as a Dragonfly Maze, monthly farmers’ market as well as many tea rooms, an artisan bakery, antiques and craft markets, traditional sweet shop, cycle hire and its very own perfumery.

Friendly host who greeted us. Would return in the future.

Cute dogs too and down the lane are masses of partridges who run in front of the car and sit on the walls, a most unusual sight for us.Very quiet and peaceful and being compact suited me as I have mobility problems. Very close to all the beautiful Cotswold areas we love and just down the road from the gorgeous Bourton on the Water. We we’re lucky to have amazing weather in October too. Wonderful.

The owners are lovely and very friendly. It’s a very convenient location for walking in the Cotswolds.
