Guests say

The Joiners Shop in Derby is a well-received holiday cottage, praised for its comfort, spaciousness, and well-equipped facilities. Guests appreciate its ideal location for walking and proximity to local attractions like Calke Abbey. The property's cleanliness and maintenance have received mixed reviews, with some guests noting exceptional standards and others pointing out areas for improvement. The presence of a pub next door is frequently mentioned as a convenient dining option.

Cleanliness has been noted as excellent by many guests, with the property being described as spotless and comfortable. However, a few reviews have mentioned that standards have slipped, with some areas not being cleaned to expectations. This inconsistency leads to a slightly reduced score.

The location is highly praised for its convenience to walking trails, local attractions, and dining options. The proximity to Calke Abbey and the pub next door are frequently mentioned positives. Some guests noted traffic noise, but it did not significantly detract from the overall experience.

Guests consistently report that the property is comfortable, with luxurious touches and cozy beds. The spaciousness and the private garden add to the comfort level. A few guests mentioned issues with temperature control and road noise in certain rooms, but these were not widespread concerns.

The facilities are generally well-regarded, with the property being described as well-equipped and luxurious. Some guests suggested improvements such as better coffee-making facilities and additional cutlery. Maintenance issues like light bulbs not working were also mentioned, leading to a slightly lower score.

While some guests were delighted with welcome gestures such as cake and milk, there is not enough consistent information about thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or special touches to provide a score. It should be noted that such gestures are appreciated but not guaranteed.

Loads of room including a reading snug and a large well appointed kitchen, but if you don't want to cook head next door to the Staff of Life, we had a lovely welcome having been there the previous year. There is a little traffic noise but otherwise there are no negatives.

Possibly due to sudden change in weather to very sunny. Hard to change interior bedroom temperature we can understand. Fan a bonus. Lovely property though and excellent having three bathrooms and bedrooms. Great outside space and summerhouse. Good to turn up and be able to make a drink and have a piece of cake!
