A beautifully renovated barn conversion, guaranteed to host a fantastic break for family and friends in this great location. As you arrive at Juglans Barn you can’t help but notice the captivating view over the landscape, a view that can be seen from many of the rooms within the house too. There is ample parking space and a garden made to be enjoyed with private hot tub and outdoor ping pong table.
Step through the bi-fold doors into the open plan living space, where you will find a beautiful kitchen with all the appliances you need to cook your favourite meals, a dining table to enjoy your time around whilst having a drink or playing games, there is also a comfortable sofa area with TV. The main living in the house has views the same as the front of the house with dual aspect windows ensuring maximum light seeps through, furnished beautifully with modern sofas and TV. There is a ground floor bedroom with double bed and patio doors opening out to the garden, the family bathroom with shower and stand-alone bath and to complete the ground floor is a separate toilet and a utility room.
The first floor consists of four bedrooms with comfortable mattresses and soft linens for a restful night’s sleep. The bedrooms are made up of two bedrooms sleeping three with a double and a single bed, these have jack and jill access to a shared shower room, the master bedroom has a super kingsize with panoramic views and the fifth bedroom is a single with restricted ceiling height, to complete the first floor is another shower room.
If you can pull yourself from the fantastic space that Juglans Barn offers there is plenty to do from this location. Explore local towns such as Belper, Matlock and Bakewell or travel into the nearest city of Derby. There are many walks you can enjoy either from the doorstep or the many trails and routes on offer in the Peak District. Take a trip to the stately home of Chatsworth House where you can explore the house and the gardens or take a ride on the Heights of Abraham cable cars in Matlock Bath. Within walking distance from Juglans Barn is the local pub serving delicious food and local ales for a treat after your busy day exploring. Head back to Juglans Barn for a soak in the hot tub.

Very clean, well equipped and cool place. Loads of room and well set out. The whole group loved it. Our usual place for our yearly meet ups was unavailable but now we've found our new venue with Juglans barn. Can't wait to go back again next year.

This was a great place to spend time with family. There was plenty of room and the house was clean and well presented. We all loved the hot tub which was used in the evenings and mornings. The space around the barn was perfect for all the cars and a place for the children to run around. It’s situated next to a field with a play park and also has stunning views. I highly recommend this barn, especially with children.

Juglans Barns is a lovely cottage tucked away from a busy road in a lovely private secluded lane. The cottage itself was immaculately presented on arrival, it was very clean and all amenities and facilities were exactly as described on the website. Ross, the host, was very accommodating and quick and replying to any questions prior to my arrival and he ensured we had a lovely stay. A few small changes would definitely help bring this cottage to a full 5*. Firstly the lack of Air Conditioning / Fans was a really struggle during the 28 degrees sunny weather. The cottage was very hot during the day especially with pets, and we struggled even more at night. Additionally, the large bedroom suite upstairs has no door meaning it lacked privacy as anyone walking through the hallway can see others sleeping on the bed. It would’ve also been really helpful to have mirrors on the walls in each bedroom rather than only in the bathrooms. Lastly, there are no additional towels provided to use in the hot tub which isn’t ideal especially as sometimes the towel hadn’t fully dried and also, the same towel used to dry off after coming out of the hot tub is the same damp towel you then use to shower with. Overall a lovely cottage and an excellent host, a few easy and quick tweaks and this cottage would be even better. Thank you for a lovely stay!
