Guests say

The Lodge at Wildersley Farm generally receives high praise for its well-equipped facilities, comfortable and spacious rooms, and thoughtful touches such as welcome gifts. Set in a peaceful countryside location, it offers a private and relaxing stay with an outdoor space that is appreciated by families and pet owners. Some guests noted the approach road is bumpy and not ideal for low cars, and one review reported a negative experience with maintenance and cleanliness.

Most guests found the lodge clean and tidy, with one negative report of insufficient bins and litter smell. The positive mentions of cleanliness in several reviews suggest a high standard is typically maintained.

The lodge is appreciated for its secluded and peaceful countryside setting, though one guest mentioned a bumpy access road. Its proximity to Belper and the surrounding farm area is generally seen as a positive aspect.

Guests consistently praise the lodge for its comfortable and spacious rooms, with special mentions of comfy beds and a relaxing atmosphere. The presence of a hot tub adds to the comfort level experienced by visitors.

Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped lodge and additional amenities like a BBQ grill and hot tub. However, some guests struggled with using the appliances, and one report of damage to cars due to the access road suggests room for improvement in maintenance.

The provision of welcome gifts, including wine and snacks, and amenities for pets and children, demonstrate thoughtfulness. However, it should be noted that such gifts are a kind gesture and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

Now you'll find it to be a spirited and bustling town, with attractions including the North Mill, Long Row and the River Gardens. There is a thriving local music and arts scene and the town hosts an annual Arts festival every May as well as Winter and Summer Food festivals and a monthly Farmers Market. The nearby historical village of Wirksworth is also home to a well-established Art and Architecture trail and Arts Festival every September. Just 10 miles away, the popular Peak District town of Matlock, together with its neighbour, Matlock Bath, are set in the beautiful wooded gorge of the River Derwent. The lodge is clean and tidy. Has a large number of kitchen supplies. Towels for the bathroom supplied and bath robes too. We’d received a message to say there was hot tub towels but found out this was incorrect. Ami kindly however supplied some for us when we explained. The private road to the property is very bumpy with pot holes. Not great for low cars. However a wonderful stay and would highly recommend.

Loved the small touches like the late check out, bottle of wine and bag of crisps that were provided. The cot and high chair provided for my baby were excellent quality and he slept really well which is great as he can be quite fussy. Rooms were really clean and great facilities, a large fridge and separate large freezer were very welcome. Great location for walking into Belper. The grounds around the lodge were lovely, with sun loungers provided and a cute seating area. Possibly could have done with a little more info/instructions on how to work the shower in the main bathroom, the oven and the tumble dryer as these were quite fancy and we struggled to get them to work. Overall a fantastic stay and perfect for our needs.

The hot tub was a much needed treat after our 13mile charity walk for Dementia. The welcome gift of milk snacks and of course a lovely bottle of wine, was a lovely touch. The wine went down very nicely too thank you. I would recommend and I would stay with you again. Thank you see you soon.
