Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Front garden with courtyard, garden furniture and summerhouse. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking.. Holly Cottage provides the perfect central location in the Peak District, on the ground floor step into the first reception room with dining table and chairs, there is even space to keep your boots and hang your coat. From here and off to the side is the utility room with washing machine and a downstairs toilet. The kitchen is well-equipped and modern with all the appliances you need to cook a great meal with sitting area by the patio doors which you can open on a nice day and let the outside in. To complete the ground floor is a cosy living room with gas wood burner and a Smart TV.
On the first floor there are three double bedrooms, all with soft and comfortable beds for a restful night’s sleep and all have TV’s too and the master has an en-suite. The master double has the addition of an en-suite shower room too. To complete the first floor is the bathroom made up of shower over bath. Holly Cottage has a beautiful garden, as you step out of the patio doors there is a courtyard area with furniture, then up a couple of steps there is table and chairs plus access to the front of the house, and then a decked area with summerhouse and a bench that catches the afternoon sun, perfect for looking over the countryside hills. To the front of the house is another garden space plus driveway parking for up to 3 cars.
The location of Holly Cottage is fantastic, you are just a few miles outside of Matlock town centre which offers independent and high street shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as good takeaway venues. A short drive from Matlock Bath known for its seaside lookalike features and annual firework displays as well as the stately home of Chatsworth House which is well worth a visit. In the opposite direction is Chesterfield, a market town with its famous crooked spire church. There are so many walking routes surrounding the house as well as a great pub over the road offering home cooked meals throughout the day and night, a favourite with the locals.

Very nice comfortable cottages and well presented , home from home kind of feel with everything you’d need. We would agree with previous reviews it is on a main busy noisy round with continued traffic during the night and bright green exit lights in all bedrooms that light up the room.

We had a lovely short stay in Holly Cottage. We were called an hour before arrival by Simon with our check in details. All very simple. The cottage is lovely, kitchen is well equipped with plenty of bits for cooking. Loads of seating areas with plenty of space for a little cottage. Outside courtyard has a lovely under cover seating areas. Showers were good and beds were comfortable.There is emergency lighting in each bedroom above each door which shines a green light, this is a little annoying as it lights up the bedrooms at night. It is on a main road, so you do get noise from this. I few areas good do with a bit of attention but none of this affected our stay. Would we stay here again, 100%! We loved the cottage and would definitely recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage is so homely and spacious, I really loved the layout and different areas to sit and relax including in the kitchen which we enjoyed. The location was perfect and plenty of nice walks close by and great location for visiting Matlock and Chatsworth house. The pub acros the road did the most delicious roasts would definitely recommend. Lovely hosts.
