This cottage has the wow factor when you walk through the front door with a well equipped kitchen including an air fryer! Three great bedrooms and the main bedroom with en-suite was perfect, even though there is a busy main road outside traffic noise wasn’t a problem. Simon welcomed us on arrival and the bonus of him owning the pub across the road is a discount on meals. The cottage is well placed for visiting Buxton, Bakewell and Matlock and all surrounding places of interest. Would definitely book again if coming to the area.

We were so looking forward to our weeks holiday at Holly cottage however we left 3 nights earlier due to the unpleasant smell of the property. When we arrived I had to clean the fridge before it could be used it is also very old so needs replacing as does some of the well used other items like the dish washer, toaster and kettle. The sink and drainer wash really dirty and stained, so I had to bleach and scour these also. The drinking cups had to be bleached as they were so stained. There was very old coffee powder left in the caddy that looked like it had been there for years. Lots of cobwebs and spiders around the rooms. The outside seating area we couldn’t use as it was dirty and had been used for smokers, cigarette remains on the floor. It’s a shame as the cottage could be lovely, looks great from the front but it’s the garden and rear that needs attention. The owner manages the pub opposite which is a nice pub and the staff are great, there is a discount for using the pub, this is great and food is good. Very busy main road in front of the cottage which is very dangerous. Stair carpet needs some attention it’s lose. Please give this cottage a deep clean and replace well used items you will have a great property rental then.

Lovely quirky cottage, lots of different seating areas and the host Simon was brilliant. All 3 bedrooms had double beds and were comfortable. Plenty of equipment in the kitchen we did cook a couple of times but Simon also owes the pub opposite (no noise from the pub) and did fantastic food so we ate 4 times there, staff in the pub were fabulous. Brilliant location for the Peak District and off road parking.
