While some guests mentioned issues with shower pressure and noise, these were generally seen as minor compared to the overall positive experience.

The property consistently receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests describing it as 'spotlessly clean' and 'lovely and clean'. The attention to cleanliness contributes significantly to the comfort of the guests' stay.

The location is well-regarded for its proximity to the Peak District and local amenities. While some guests noted road noise, the convenience and the views from the property are appreciated, making it a desirable base for exploring the area.

Overall, guests find the property comfortable, with special mentions of the beds and spaciousness. However, some guests noted issues with seating for the full capacity and lumpy beds, slightly affecting the comfort score.

Clay Cross is a small village near the Peak District National Park's boundary. There are numerous shops, taverns, and superb restaurants in the town. The old market town of Chesterfield, which serves as the gateway to the Peak District and has much to offer visitors, is only a few miles away. The town's 14th-century church is known for its "Crooked Spire," which twists strangely from its actual centre, and the town's regular hectic market days are great for visiting the many diverse speciality shops and stalls that line the old Market Hall and lovely Shambles beyond. Queens Park, with its boating lake, footpaths, and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre, are all located in the town.

The property was in excellent condition, spacious, yet had a homely feel - the few queries we had were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Thank you for the welcome milk/bread etc which was appreciated. Advice given to park outside door when loading/offloading was very helpful as hill from car park was quite steep. Both showers worked well and loved that I could make meals whilst supervising and interacting with the kids. The road was noisy (we did have windows open), with numerous ambulances (A&E nearby), but wasn't a problem for us, especially as the kids slept through. Would have liked a washing machine if we had been staying for longer, or details for local laundrette. We returned home after a lovely, relaxing break. Thank you.

Could hear pub noise but it stopped by midnight and the live music on Saturday night finished by 11pm, it didn't bother us.

The apartment is beautiful and superbly well kitted out. On arrival there was milk, bread, tea, coffee and bananas. The rooms are all nicely furnished with lovely views of the Derbyshire countryside at the rear. The pub downstairs serves excellent beer and food. We had a great stay. Thank you Craig and all the George Team. M&M
