Oakwood House in Matlock is highly praised for its spaciousness, high-quality furnishings, and beautiful views. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and the convenience of en-suite bathrooms. The property's garden and proximity to local attractions and pubs add to its charm. While minor maintenance issues are mentioned, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive, making it a favoured choice for groups and family gatherings.
The property generally receives high marks for cleanliness, with guests noting it as 'spotless' and 'very clean'. However, a few guests mentioned specific instances of uncleanliness, such as a sticky dining table and an unclean oven, which slightly lowers the score.
The location is consistently lauded for its stunning views, proximity to local pubs, and ease of access to walking trails and tourist attractions. The village's charm and the property's position within walking distance to Matlock contribute to a high score.
Guests find the property very comfortable, with special mentions of the comfortable beds and pillows, and the spaciousness allowing for large groups to stay with ease. Some feedback on the need for better ventilation and the absence of a toilet on the living floor slightly affects the score.
Facilities are generally regarded as excellent, with a well-equipped kitchen and amenities like smart TVs and board games. However, some guests encountered minor maintenance issues such as full bins on arrival and a blind control falling off, which impacts the score.
The provision of a welcome pack and multi-device chargers in the property indicates thoughtfulness. While these gifts are appreciated, it is important to note that such offerings are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

We enjoyed the food in the Gate Inn and also did the Sunday night quiz at the Tavern. We have done a lot of weekends away like this as a group and some of them had a games room. The bedroom downstairs without an en suit would make a great one. Thanks for a great stay in a lovely house.

Weâd expect bath sheets in a house of this standard. Thereâs nothing you can do about the roof but the sound of heavy rain kept us all awake one night. The pillows in the main bedroom were rock hard. I donât know about the other bedrooms. These issues apart, itâs a fabulous rental and we were very happy. Thank you.

Plenty of room for our group, very clean, well equipped and amazing views. We had a great time and would definitely recommend this gorgeous house.
