Part of the original building once contained the anvil and forge, where the blacksmith would diligently shoe the working horses on the farm.

Anvil Cottage looks like converted stables which has been modernised and provides everything you need. The large rooms are furnished beautifully, with comfy beds and plenty of space, lovely countryside around and just the sheep for company. It is around six miles to Louth for shopping, and there is a local co-op at Wragby. There is a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, as well as all the lovely perfumed soap and cleaning products you might need. The owner was very welcoming , with local plum bread and 6 eggs waiting for us on the kitchen table. A couple of minor problems were soon sorted. Definitely home from home.

I stayed at Anvil Cottage this week - Monday to Friday - with a female friend and my two dogs. The cottage was very spacious and immaculate throughout. It was also extremely well appointed with everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable including ice (for gin and tonics) as well as eggs and the local plum bread which we had never tasted before. Its location, close to the lovely market town of Louth as well as to a variety of places of interest, was ideal. It was extremely quiet and rural which we absolutely loved. It was great to see 2 foxes on the hill to the back of the cottage early one morning. We had a warm welcome from Sue on Monday who provided us with loads of local information. We also really appreciated the fact that she went out of her way to accommodate our preferred ETA 😀We sent a text to Andy on Monday night as we had a malfunction in one of the bathrooms. He responded within minutes and was with us the following day to tackle the issue.Overall, we had a wonderful time at Anvil Cottage and thank you to Sue and Andy for making our stay so comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the accommodation to friends and family and we would love to go back again same time next year to visit everything we couldn't go to this year.

The host was very friendly and helpful. Great peaceful location on a farm with lovely walks to go on. The accommodation had everything we needed and was pet friendly.Would recommend and would stay again.
