Mayfield Lodge receives high praise for its cosy, well-equipped, and spacious accommodation, making it ideal for families and those seeking a relaxing break. Guests particularly enjoyed the hot tub, comfortable beds, and helpful, friendly hosts. The property is clean and private, with charming touches such as a fruiting pear tree and timber frames. While the location is peaceful, a car is necessary for exploring the area. Minor issues mentioned include occasional cobwebs, window cleanliness, and the absence of EV charging, but overall, guests found their stays enjoyable and would happily return.
Most guests found the property clean and well-maintained, with only a few minor comments about cobwebs under the eaves and some dirty windows. Overall, cleanliness was consistently praised.
The lodge is described as secluded and peaceful, perfect for a quiet getaway. However, there is little to do locally without a car, and some guests noted it was further from nearby towns than expected.
Guests highlighted the comfortable beds, spacious layout, and cosy atmosphere. A few mentioned the need for new mattresses and bedding, but comfort was generally a strong point.
Facilities such as the hot tub, gaming space, and well-equipped kitchen were appreciated. The main negative was the lack of EV charging, which had been advertised but was unavailable.
Hosts were frequently described as warm, helpful, and attentive, with thoughtful touches like preparing the lodge for late arrivals. While some guests enjoyed small extras, please note that gifts or special gestures are not guaranteed.

Everything very positive and ideal for what we were looking for. Only issue for us were the mattresses and bedding. They really need to be replaced. Hot tub was a good size but not sure how often it’s cleaned and chemicals added. Would like to return if these small issues were rectified.
