Unfortunately we had a number of issues. The main one being a water pump failure which whilst resolved on the second day (we were there for less than 48 hours in total) meant there was insufficient pressure to run the dishwashers. That meant we had to do dishes for 16 people by hand (we had rented both cottages) which takes a long time and severely curtailed our time together. In addition many of the luxurious touches advertised were not provided (hot tub, tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, robes and slippers. Frustratingly there was very little concern from the management team who tried to fob me off to start with and get me to arrange the repairs. There was no contact to see if they could assist or if things had resolved. Whilst we loved the space it was a trial having to waste so many of our few waking hours doing unnecessary dishes. I would be reluctant to book again as if we did experience an issue I don't believe it would be dealt with correctly. That and the price we paid was far too much for what we actually received.

Unfortunately some of our party would not stay here again. All the bedrooms are en-suite wet rooms but there are no doors on the bathrooms, and some only have half walls. It meant that the toilet in the main house next to the snooker room got a lot of use! The positives are a fabulous open plan area for dining, sitting and a cosy nook by the fire. We really enjoyed that. And the views and locations are stunning. The snooker room and tv room downstairs are also good. The kitchen in the main house is very small but we managed fine with it. Negatives - the house needs a cleaning/maintenance review. The microwave was very dirty, there was no grill pan, only one shelf in the main oven. I had asked for the house to be warm on arrival but it was cold because the heating was off!!!! And 2 radiators weren’t working. They did get an engineer out first thing Sat am and the house was toasty warm after that. Some of the lights in the sitting room weren’t working. There were no matches for the candles or fire so we had to go back out after arrival to buy some! Not what you’d expect from a luxury holiday house.
