Enjoyed our stay with an excellent location. Spacious property for large family groups.Fantastic large TV but could not connect to Wi-Fi !Big thanks to Lisa for sorting out the shortage of cutlery, crockery, cups and tea towels. Some things that may be useful to address are detailed below:There are adequate shower facilities but they do require maintaining. Showers/washing facilities are generally adequate once you have mastered the main shower but would benefit from maintenance. E.g. non slip shower mats…also shower head didn’t work properly.Brush pan would be useful.Instruction manuals would be very useful for heating, cooking facilities etc.Ground floor - no privacy. Would benefit from curtains/blinds particularly as we are in the winter.Lounge dining area chairs are in urgent need of replacing e.g. 3 unsteady and 1 broken. A heat protector for the main dining table would be a good idea for the guests' benefit as well as the owners! The main room has an open fireplace with a woodburner which is shared to the bedroom ground floor. The bedroom side of the fireplace has a portable screen but does not prevent noise( a point already mentioned in a previous review).Storage ….some bedrooms have no hanging rail facilities or drawers. No coat pegs in the hall either.Bedroom furniture….The beds were mainly small single beds (not adult size).I would not normally look to put too much on a review but I feel that these things above should be addressed as they do add up. It has a tired feeling and needs a general update as it could be a really good holiday destination.Despite all this, we have a lovely family Christmas together and it is great for a group gathering.

We recently stayed here as a group of friends with children aged 3-13 years. We had a fantastic stay the games room is brilliant and we lost the children down there for hours at a time. It’s a really big house with lots of space and comfy seating. Great location and lots of lovely day trips especially if you have national trust membership. The only problems were small it would be lovely if there was more cutlery and glasses as a group of 15 we struggled with only 10 knives quite a lot of eating dinner with a spoon and there weren’t enough glasses to go round either. The other thing to note is the downstairs bedroom is screened off from the living room so we had to move our party around so that children weren’t sleeping in there as adults in the living room were keeping them awake. Overall though a fantastic stay great value for money for such a big house.
