Private parking for 2 cars. No smoking.. Ikkle is a charming cosy cottage, situated in Old Blidworth, with good access to all local amenities. It has a small, enclosed patio which is fenced and walled, making it the ideal space for dogs to enjoy.
There are several dog friendly pubs/restaurants within walking distance, and just a short walk away is the village, with its two supermarkets, takeaways, a chemist and various shops. This lovely area is a great base for both walkers and cyclists. The historic area of Old Blidworth is in Robin Hood country, with close proximity to Sherwood Forest. Newstead Abbey, the former home of Lord Byron, is only a few miles away, and hosts an exhibition, relating to the life and works of Lord Byron and his daughter, Ada Lovelace. There is a recently opened (November ‘24) Planetarium and Science Discovery Centre, which also features a cafe. This is approximately 4 miles away.
Local attractions include Clumber Park, Rufford Country Park and Abbey, and Center Parcs, White Post Farm, Farnsfield. Another popular attraction is the historic market town of Southwell, with its minster, open to the public. There are many cafés and interesting boutique shops in the town. The market town of Newark is also within easy reach, and there is a tram and train station at Hucknall, with various routes available, including Nottingham. For golfing enthusiasts, there are four golf courses all within a short drive. Shop ½ mile, pub and restaurant 100 yards.

Second time staying in Ikkle Cottage. It's a very well equipped, cosy cottage. Really excellent if you have a dog. Local walks through fields within 5 minutes. The area is very quiet. In the winter, the cottage is very warm and pleasant. The hosts are superb.

Booked for a couple of days away at Easter. Communication from the host was excellent from start to finish. Arriving after a 3.5 hour journey due to traffic we kept missing the entrance (someone had helpfully parked in front of it) and they stayed on the phone to guide us in. You enter via the back via a small enclosed yard into the conservatory which leads to the living area. Both are cozy and the electric wood burner fire heats the room quickly. This leads to a very well appointed kitchen, has everything you need including an air fryer, tea and coffee provided along with a pint of milk and a welcome pack.Upstairs are the 2 bedrooms, both are lovely, and the bathroom.Location was perfect. Easy drive to Sherwood Forest and Mansfield.Locally 2 pubs, one just by the cottage and one a couple of minutes walk. Both served food. Shops are a short walk away.2 adults, one teen and 2 small dogs had a wonderful time and plan to return. Thank you.

My friend and I stayed over the new year along with my dog . A very cosy and comfortable cottage . Well equipped with everything you could possibly need . Good communication . Welcome pack on arrival . Can highly recommend the Fox and Hounds - 20 min walk or 5 min drive away - dog friendly( best to book as only allowed in one room with a dog ) fabulous food - we went twice - huge portions . The Black Bull next door but only served Sunday lunch - didn’t stink on there but looked lovely . Visit to Newstead abbey on New Year’s Day - beautiful grounds . A lovely relaxing stay
