Site Description

Redbrick Woodland Lodges is part of our Autograph Lodge Holidays Collection, nestling in woodland with its own small lake in the grounds of an historic 19th century house. A perfect setting for exploring one of England’s best-loved and most majestic areas – Robin Hood country.

The park boasts magnificent and spacious lodges, a converted barn and cottages. All accommodations have a contemporary interior finished to exacting standards, and include a hot tub. The lodges come with large outdoor decking, whilst the barn and cottages have paved patios. The park is tucked away in a quiet woodland where you will see numerous species of birds. Peace and relaxation are guaranteed!

Steeped in legend, this is a landscape of lush forest, bustling market towns and quaint, ancient villages. The world-famous Sherwood Forest and the vibrant city of Nottingham, where medieval meets cosmopolitan, both offer numerous must-see delights. You can explore the beautiful local area by foot, bike or horseback.

The classical styling of the Scandinavian style log cabins encapsulate the essence of a true lodge holiday experience, whilst the converted barn and cottages’ restored original features provide a throwback to the building’s farming heritage. Add in the special touch of the outdoor hot tub and you will find that Redbrick Woodland Park offer the ideal retreat for couples and families alike.

Please note this park is no longer a part of the 2020@2019 offer.

The building itself is beautiful however a few things were lacking meaning I couldn’t give it a perfect scoring. Pool cues need new tips and some chalk. The white ball for the pool table is very chipped and needs replacing. 2 days in we noticed that one of the downstairs bedrooms stunk of sewerage. This remained through the rest of our stay. One of my children found popcorn on the bed blanket (clearly from previous stay). Kitchen hob didn’t look clean, looked like grease just smeared over the top of it. We stayed when it was fairly windy so the fans in the bathrooms clicked every night we were there. One of the upstairs bedrooms seems to be prone to flies and the bathroom fan doesn’t work in the same room. We noticed a fair few dead flies around the barn on arrival. Beds are comfy but pillows are too soft. Hot tub was lovely and checked every morning but we noticed it was the only one that was very open and had no privacy at all which surprises me given what you pay. The last day someone came out to clean the drains out right outside the property. Its a good job we weren’t in the hot tub because it smelt awful. Surely this could have been done once people had departed on the Friday. Basic utensils in the kitchen and 1 tea towel for your stay, surprising given the decor. Don’t get me wrong it was a welcome break and people may think these are trivial things to moan about, but when you pay what you do for this property, you expect very top standard at the least. Would have been nice to see a little welcome pack of basic essentials.

The ‘great barn’ is spacious and overall comfortable- it’s location is good for visiting national parks - you do need a carThe hot tub isn’t secluded and you don’t get bath robes supplied- which is unusual in autograph propertiesThe master bedroom is the only one with a TV The kitchen is stocked well with glasses and crockery- standard IKEA The Barn does not have a washing machine and the kitchen utensils are of poor quality and a limited selection. The pans were very small and oven equipment was limited. You are supplied with one tea towel for several days- and no replacement bin liners - there is a recycling area at reception Also remember you can’t access til 4pm on the first day and leave by 10am on the last day- effectively meaning your 5 day holiday is actually 3 days
