There are footpaths from the doorstep for some great country walks heading off through the surrounding fields including the highest point in Nottinghamshire which provides wonderful views. Visit the popular local ice cream parlour just 3 miles away and sample some local favourites at a well known farm shop just 1.5 miles away. National Trust Clumber Park (19 miles) is great for walking and cycling, Sherwood Forest (15.5 miles), with the mighty Major Oak tree, is the home of Robin Hood, and Rufford Abbey (10 miles) has a lake and playpark. Southwell is 6 miles away with its famous minster along with independent shops and cafes. The cathedral city of Lincoln is 22 miles away where you can browse the many shops and restaurants and hike up the famous steep hill. Step into the cottage where you will find a cosy lounge, with plenty of comfortable seating, a TV and lovely views over the garden. The kitchen offers everything you need to rustle up a meal during your stay, and you can come together in the dining room and enjoy a big Sunday roast after a day walking through the countryside. Completing the ground floor is the shower room. Head upstairs where you will find three spacious bedrooms, two doubles and a twin room along with a family bathroom. Don t forget your bubble bath and your favourite book to enjoy a long bath at the end of the day. Outside, the enclosed garden is surrounded by mature trees which bring in lots of wildlife to the garden. Enjoy dinner outside on warmer evenings whilst the sunsets or just soak away in the hot tub.
