Bike store. No smoking.. The Retreat offers stunning accommodation for up to four guests. The ground floor is an open plan kitchen and living space, finished to a high standard with comfortable sofa that can be made up as a double sofa bed and TV. The space is shared with a well-equipped kitchen with breakfast bar to seat two guests with a further table available for two more guests if required. Patio doors open out from the living area onto a lovely enclosed garden with corner sofa seating, manicured lawn and shrubs. Take the stairs up to the first floor where a galleried kingsize bedroom awaits, dressed with comfortable and soft linens for a dreamy nights sleep; there is space around the bedroom with a further window looking over the back garden. An en-suite shower room is just off from the bedroom for convenience which is modern and finished to a great standard. Overall The Retreat is a beautiful holiday home to be enjoyed by you.

Visit the village’s stunning medieval church, St. Swithuns, known for its architecture and stained glass windows. For outdoor enthusiasts, the surrounding countryside offers numerous walking and cycling routes allowing you to soak up the beauty of the rural landscape. A short drive away is Newark Castle which stands as a testament to history and gives you a glimpse into the area’s past. The castle often hosts events and exhibitions that showcase its heritage. National Civil War Centre in Newark will take you back to the 17th century to uncover one of the most turbulent times in British history. Sherwood Forest is legendary and famous for its association with Robin Hood and its ancient oak trees and makes for a fantastic day out, along with Clumber Park. Norwood Park, Newstead Abbey and Southwell Race course are close by to visit. Head into he market town of Newark where you can enjoy a diverse range of shops and boutiques.

Had a excellent time at the retreat hosted by was fantastic very welcoming a loverly person close to all amenities Lincoln Cathedral was stunning and you could take dogs in which I thought was wonderful sadly they would not let dogs in the castle which I found strange Sherwood Forest was great there is so much to do would definitely go back again

Wonderful stay, bed and pillows were so comfy! Very clean and lots of good gadgets in the place - air fryer, coffee machine, freezer etc. Only thing that wasnt quite clear on booking was that the property is joined to the hosts house and the back garden is shared with their house too. Although they werent a bother at all and were absolutely lovely hosts. Overall it was a wonderful stay

We had a really lovely stay at The Retreat and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area as it is a central location for many attractions. The cottage was very comfortable, clean and welcoming. You can really tell that a lot of love and thought was put into it's design.
