beautiful area. accommodation was more spacious than we expected. they obviously booked the weather for us too as it was great all week. there is a lovely walk -Fort Henry loop- around the area which we were given a map for when we asked at reception. the staff in the bar/restaurant were great, v.helpful, polite and welcoming. the driving range had games we could play with our kids too so that was something new to try. Rutland water was about 15 minutes away, lots to do there, and supermarket about 20 minutes away. the location was great, very peaceful but not far from other things. would go back again! ideal for golfers too as the green is brilliant!

Family break with my niece and family travelling from Sheffield and I from Herts/Esex. Fabulous location, flawles check-in and the lodge was the largest I have ever stayed in. Masive comfortable double beds and everything you needed (check dishwasher before calling reception to say there are no cups!!) This is a place I would definitely visit again with friends. The area is beautiful and Rutland water was a joy to walk around, a weekend of amazing weather! My only negative was that the decking was poor in places around the lodge, going rotten and the rail at the top of the steps not even connected to the stair post and had rotted bottom and top. The slightest touch and there was nothing to hold you back from falling off the deck into the bushes and drop below of about 3 to four feet. I mentioned this and showed a photo as I checked out. Who I believed to be a maintenance guy, apologised and said he would go to see straight away when he obviously realised how dangerous this was.
