Stroll beside the River Lea to see the famous Victorian gazebos, and spot wildlife at the Amwell Nature Reserve or Post Wood, both 8.5 miles away. Follow the 5-mile Chadwell Sculpture Trail through Ware, Great Amwell, Hertford and King’s Meads. Visit the fairy-tale Scott’s Grotto, with its shell-clad passages that extend some 20 metres into the hillside. Make a trip to Hatfield House, 18 miles away, to explore the Jacobean mansion and wander the elegant gardens and leafy woodland. You can also enjoy the parkland, which is home to a herd of some 160 deer.
