Relax in the character-filled L-shaped sitting room, adorned with gorgeous old arch barn doors, and feel at home on one of the plush blue sofas, with a woodburning stove resting next to the large TV, where you can take your pick from Freeview channels or bring a DVD to watch. The classic kitchen boasts black slate tiled floor, completed with all the amenities you need for a self-catered stay including a oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and even a TV. There's a utility space containing a washing machine, convenient for a week-long stay, resting behind is a handy cloakroom to avoid bathroom queues. To the outside there's a quaint patio with seating, a great spot to replenish your energy with a few quiet moments to yourself in the glorious sunshine. Rest your eyes in one of three pleasant bedrooms, including a spacious super king-size which can be changed to twin beds if needed, a lovely cast iron double and a pretty twin room benefiting from fantastic views of Causey Pike. The bathroom has a choice of a relaxing evening bath, or a quick brisk shower to freshen up before a busy day ahead. Pop a few steps down the road to the village shop to stock up on treats, there's also a charming country pub and restaurant located right next door. Walk or hike around the scenic hills and mountains, such as Grisedale Pike, Barrow, Outerside and the Coledale Round or venture into the beautiful Newlands Valley. Resting above Braithwaite is Force Crag Mine, the last working metal mine in the Lake District, lasting until 1991, a fascinating area to walk along the gravelled track. Discover adventure at the highest Go Ape course in the country at Go Ape Whinlatter, where you can participate in the treetop challenge or the forest segway tour among the unique landscape and breath-taking views.
