Whinlatter Forest Park is on your doorstep, with cycling and walking trails as well as an Osprey viewing point for wildlife enthusiasts. The Go Ape high ropes course is perfect for kids and adults alike. Keen walkers can embark on the Newlands Horseshoe which includes the six summits of Catbells, Maiden Moor, High Spy, Dalehead, Hindscarth and Robinson. For a gentle stroll, lakeside picnic or some family kayaking, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake are both roughly 5 miles away. Keswick is just 3 miles away with plenty of shops and eateries as well as its renowned Theatre by the Lake.
