This ground floor apartment is tucked away just off the town centre, seconds from George Fisher’s famous store and moments from the lively shops, restaurants and pubs of Keswick and so benefits from having all amenities on the doorstep of its tranquil location. A brief walk leads via Hope Park and its scenic gardens and golf courses, past the Theatre on the Lake to Derwentwater lakeside with its boating trips and magnificent views of the surrounding hills and mountains.

We enjoyed our short stay and would definitely consider returning to 1 Windsor House. The apartment, with its adjacent parking space, is located very close to George Fisher - so within walking distance to all amenities in the centre of Keswick and Lake Derwentwater as well as being an ideal base for walking and other outdoor activities. Although part of a larger building, access is down a few steps, through its own small courtyard and private front door. The tiny modern kitchen is very well equipped. One step up is the lounge/dining area. This has a comfortable armchair and large leather sofa. The dining table can seat two. There are a variety of books, information re walks and climbs in the local area and some puzzles & board games. French doors lead to the mini courtyard which is a sun trap in the afternoon. The only bedroom has adequate storage. Outside the bathroom is a utility area with a washing machine. The bathroom is compact with a shower over the bath. On arrival the apartment was clean, although the bathroom floor and grouting around the shower really needs a deep clean. We were aware of residents in apartment above us but this did not cause us any issue. Would be a nice touch to have some planters in the courtyard area.

Had a lovely few days at 1 Windsor House, having previously stayed at 2 Windsor House. The property is very comfortable and clean. It was ideal for us as a couple. It is well equipped with everything you'd need. Only slight issue was the shower head isn't great. The location is brilliant for a visit to Keswick as it's only a short walk to town centre and lake. The bonus with this cottage is that it has a parking space just outside the front door. We will definitely look at staying here again at some point.

This is a beautiful cottage in the perfect location of Keswick. The owners have given a lot of thought to the decor & furnishings as you have everything you need for a very comfortable and cosy stay. The washer dryer was a lovely surprise. The kitchen is well fitted out with everything you could possibly need, even down to cling film! A short 10 minute walk will take you down to the Lake, Derwentwater, where you can catch a launch to various jetties. As you are staying at one end of Keswick main street you are 5 minutes from a great selection of cafes, shops, cinema and the Theatre by the Lake.
