Blencathra, one of 3 holiday apartments, is a small attic apartment with sloping ceilings on the second floor, with fell views, and comprises a living room, kitchen/diner, bedroom and bathroom, a parking permit is provided for the nearby car park. Situated just off the main thoroughfare, opposite the world renowned ‘George Fishers’ climbing shop, with all amenities to hand. A 10 minute stroll along Lake Road and through the beautifully manicured gardens of Hope Park lead down to Derwentwater, with regular launch trips around the lake and numerous dropping off points. There is parking nearby with a permit included and once parked up, your car need never leave its space.
The fells are accessible from the door and in the evenings the nearest bars and restaurants are within 75 yards. The apartments are accessed via several steps and are spacious, very comfortably furnished, well equipped and have the benefit of Wi-Fi and a shared terrace. Beach 25 miles. Shop 100 yards, pub and restaurant 50 yards.
Blencathra can be booked together with Skiddaw (UK1083) and Catbells (UK1085) to accommodate up to 8 guests.

If I could leave no stars and post the pictures taken I would. Stayed one night and was moved the next day by Cottages.The property is a health hazard due to black mould round all windows and dampness in property.It also hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived, there was dust on all skirtings and floors, cobwebs, dead flies, dirty/sticky surfaces, droppings in kitchen and mould in bathroom.If we had somewhere else to go our first night we would have.List of issues:dampness in property that’s caused the wallpaper to peel off the living room walls and showing water marks (someone has tried to tape paper back on with silver sticky tape)Sticky surfaces in living room Marks on couchblack mould round all window seals Cobwebs and dead flies on the windowsills thick dust on picture above bed Cobwebs above bed Broken light fitting in chest of drawersDirty small swivel mirrorBig mirror in bedroom above drawers has obviously fallen off the wall and marked paper and mirror has been left on floor in corner instead of fixed back onto the wall Inches of dust on all skirting boards in flat Black mould round taps in bath and bath sealFloor in bathroom dirty and dusty Dirty mirror Mouse droppings in kitchenDusty bread bin inside and outDirty dusty utensils Black mould round washing machine Opened cupboard and all the pots and pans fell out as if someone had just thrown them in

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐This place is truly a hidden gem! Beautiful location with everything you need on the doorstep, within the apartment is a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and that instant home from home feel! Can't rate this place enough and will definitely be looking to book again in the future!
