Studded in the foothills of Blencathra, your holiday accommodation is an excellent base for adventures thanks to the plethora of footpaths and cycle paths at your disposal. Traipse across the rugged countryside at leisure, visiting the welcoming pub on your doorstep or venturing the 5.5 mile drive to Keswick to sample local fare at a welcoming restaurant. This bustling market town is known for its array of attractions such as independent shops, pubs and charming theatre. The shores of Derwentwater are just 2 miles away from the town, where you can soak up the scenery from a traditional launch service across the lake, or pack a picnic and take a stroll around the shoreline for lunch with a view. Step through the traditional stone exterior and enter via the ground floor to find a bright and spacious property that is simply styled. The open plan lounge/diner has a TV, DVD, and a CD/radio, and there is a handy folding table and four chairs for mealtimes. The kitchen offers an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer and a microwave for preparing hearty suppers or simple snacks. Take care on the steps leading down to the ground floor, which is home to a comfortable twin bedroom and a large bathroom with a bath, separate shower and WC. An airy double bedroom can be found on the first floor, which features plenty of bedroom furniture and a useful en suite WC. Outside, you ll have sole use of a small gravelled patio area with garden furniture for al fresco dining with a view. To the side of the property is an excellent shared BBQ/picnic area, and there is ample off road, shared parking. On the nights you don t feel like cooking, the village pub is across the road.
