Beautiful Bassenthwaite Lake is right on your doorstep and the area around the cottage is perfect for enjoying scenic walks, mountain bike rides, or heading out onto the water. More adventurous visitors may like to hike to the summit of Skiddaw and for those who like a tipple, the Lakes Distillery is just a few miles away offering a great day out. Lyzzick Hall Hotel is located less than a mile away and offers a selection of fine dining, afternoon tea and a beautiful garden terrace to admire the views of the surrounding fells. Keswick is a short drive away (2.5 miles) a tourist hot spot, which provides an array of independent shops, eateries, galleries, and parks to enjoy all on the shores of Derwentwater. Walking down the shallow steps to the property you will instantly feel in your own little paradise and far away from everything. Step in the front door you will be able to kick off your shoes and hang your coat before walking into your getaway. The open plan living area is the ideal space for the family, starting with the lounge area which offers a wood burner with two sofas and an armchair to sit and relax whilst enjoying the stunning views over the valley, or gather together for a film night on the TV/DVD. There are the same breath taking views from the dining area so you can enjoy them still while sitting at the table enjoying a family feast. The kitchen has all the appliances and mod cons you need for your holiday along with a breakfast bar. There is also a cloakroom with WC on the ground floor. Heading up to the first floor there are 3 bedrooms, a double room with a TV, a twin room, and a bedroom with bunk beds. Completing the first floor is the family bathroom. The outside decking is the heart and soul of the property and offers amazing speculator views of the valley and mountains beyond. A great spot to kick back, watch the red squirrels and relax with a drink and enjoy any time of day. There is a built in BBQ to enjoy as well along with a sloping lawned garden area your four legged friends can enjoy. Need to know: 3 bedrooms 1 double, 1 twin, and 1 bunk room. 1 bathroom with shower over bath and 1 ground floor WC. Electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dryer and dishwasher. Filtered coffee machine in the kitchen. Wood burner. TV in lounge with Fire Stick and TV in the double bedroom. Underfloor heating in the kitchen, hall and bathroom. Fire pit (logs are not provided). Decking with seating, sloping lawned garden and built in charcoal BBQ. Unallocated on street parking (subject to availability). Restaurant 1 miles, Pub 1.5 miles, Shop 2 miles. There is a set of 17 shallow steps down to the property from the road level. The property has a septic tank, so guests are asked to use eco friendly products while staying at the cottage.
