Coombe Cottage is a well-loved property in a stunning Lake District location, offering privacy, comfort, and a well-equipped kitchen. Guests have enjoyed the spacious accommodation, the proximity to walking trails and local amenities, and the beautiful views. While some guests mentioned issues with cleanliness and maintenance, these were not the majority, and many praised the thoughtful touches and the property's suitability for a relaxing holiday.
Most guests found the cottage to be comfortable and well-maintained, though there were some concerns about cleanliness, including reports of cobwebs and a spider infestation in one bedroom. However, these comments were not reflective of the overall guest experience.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views of Derwentwater, easy access to walking trails, and proximity to Keswick. The availability of a nearby hotel and bus service was also appreciated, enhancing the property's appeal.
Guests generally found the cottage comfortable, with ample heating, mood lighting, and comfortable beds. Some guests suggested improvements regarding the heating schedule and the need for clearer instructions for the central heating system.
The property is well-equipped, particularly the kitchen, and guests enjoyed the spacious lounges and en-suite bedrooms. However, some guests noted that certain appliances and furnishings could benefit from updating, and there were minor maintenance issues like non-working spotlights.
Guests appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as Christmas decorations and a box of chocolates upon arrival. While these gestures were well-received, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary with each stay.

The cottage was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. You might want to know that after a particularly stormy wet night, there was small wet area in the conservatory

Iâve walked past it for many years never imagining that one day I would stay there. The whole family immediately felt at home here. The cottage is well appointed and comfortable. There are several areas where people can pursue their own interests. I particularly liked the sunny conservatory.

It is very comfortable and is in an ideal location. There is nothing I would seek to change about it.
