This lodge is ideal for couples and small families looking for a great base in the National Park. The master bedroom features a kingsize bed, stylish interior design and an en-suite shower room, plus walk-in wardrobe. Next door, you’ll find a comfortable twin room and a separate family bathroom with large walk-in shower. Outside, you have private decking, private parking and amazing fell views. The imposing Skiddaw offers a superb backdrop for your holiday.
You’re in a great location, just a mile from Bassenthwaite Lake and 1¼ miles from Bassenthwaite village, with an excellent pub serving a range of local cask ales and great food that bring a refreshing reward after a day of adventure in the countryside. Whether you like walking, hiking or cycling, you are never too far away from your next adventure. You have good access to plenty of walking and cycle routes nearby as well as more challenging fells including Skiddaw, Catbells, Latrigg and Blencathra to name a few. Just 2½ miles away, you’ll find the Lake District Wildlife Park with over a hundred species of wild animals, great fun for the family. Also nearby, you’ll find the Lakes Distillery, producers of fine whisky, gin and vodka, offering tasting tours, always a hit with the adults.
Just 7 miles away is the popular town of Keswick, on the shores or Derwent Water, with an abundance of dining and shopping experiences as well as a mix of cultural hotspots and tourist attractions. The Pencil Museum, home to the world’s largest pencil, the Theatre by the Lake, offering award winning arts and drama, and the mind-boggling world of The Puzzling Place, fun for all ages based on optical illusions, are all nearby. We had a lovely holiday mainly because the Lodge was so warm, clean and comfortable. The weather was cold and pretty average but it wasn't a problem because the lodge was such a lovely place to return to each day.

Beautiful lodge in a beautiful location. Very well stocked with everything you need for a home from home stay. Welcome pack with tea, coffee, milk and biscuits to start the visit off well. Would definitely book again.

Wonderful stay at Dodd lodge. Great location at the foot of Skiddaw, with bassenthwaite village and short walk/drive away. The lodge had everything we needed; comfy beds, clean, newly fitted bathroom and a kitchen well stocked with al the utensils we needed. Worth noting that the lodge doesn’t have WiFi, this certainly didn’t bother us, it was nice to have a digital detox! We would love to come and stay again, it the perfect spot for walks in the north lakes, away from the bustle of Keswick
